Just dug this up from the run I started like two years ago. Pretty sure I'm using the same rules, minus the no healing items clause. Then again, I'm not certain. I may very well pick this up again and play it in conjunction with my Black "shitty team with DW abilities" run (which is going AWESOME).

Has anyone had much success with the Masuda method? I'm thinking of trying it out, looking for any tips.

Any mons from another country, if memory serves......... is going to significantly cut down the number of non-shinies you'll end up with. Additionally, having a slugma or magcargo in your party is going to make them hatch quicker.

Would it have to be a Slugma/ Magcargo? Or could it be any fire type?

It can be any pokemon with the ability "magma armor" or "flame body."

I haven't explored it yet, but would also like to hear any positive stories about it.

I tried it, and got a shiny Axew after 409 eggs, as well as a shiny Bouffalant after only 179 eggs.

Though on the flipside I've gone through 1,000 eggs and no shiny Pawiard, so.....yeah. :dizzy:

I just made my new record in the Battle Train, 48 consecutive battles in Singles. Now if I had more variety I could probably make a better team for this propose :p

Except you never find Mew in the Cerulean Cave.

Probably a grammatical error, and me being a grammar nazi, but yeah...

It means you find Ditto in the same cave as Mewtwo. I thought it meant Mew and Ditto too.

What's people's opinions on the Choice items? The ones that boost a stat but only allows one move to be used. I'm not sure if I'm cracked on the idea of being locked in on one move but I would like to hear what people have to say about them.
I was mentioned in the SciFi Japan article about the appearence of extras on the Godzilla vs. Megalon DVD.

For 6v6 battles, they rock. I don't like to use them in the Battle Frontier/Subway though, because being locked into 1 move with only 3 mons means you sometimes get skreeonk right then and there. And that's never a fun situation to be in. Nothing worse than getting locked into EQ when their second two Pokemon are immune to ground. Even worse when the Choiced Pokemon is your last one and you get locked into a move that their last Pokemon is immune to. That is a surefire way to screw yourself over.

I usually use Choice Specs on Yanmega and Choice Band on Staraptor. That's it, really. Specs is pretty awesome on Yanmega, since Tinted Lens helps a helluva lot when locked into a move. Band works well on Staraptor because, lets face it, he's just there to obliterate everything that comes up against him before KOing himself from recoil anyway.

I actually use Choice Scarf/Band in my Flygon, it can take unexpecting opponents before they can do anything about it. I do run it in the Battle Subway because I don't have a huge selection of pokes from which to choose, and rarely I've been defeated solely because of being locked into a movement. I also ran a Choice Scarf Togekiss, which is excellent in doubles.

Eh, I don't really like choice items, I usually end up in a bad position.

Anyone made any plans for their B2W2 teams yet? I'm thinking:

-Oshawott
-Riolu
-Eevee (evolved into Espeon...maybe.)
-Growlith

Not sure who else yet.

Oh, can anyone figure out this: http://alteredorigin.net/swap/ It's driving me crazy.
