I'm happy we got something out of this but at the same time I was hoping for news on when they would begin filming or a script update or just an update on the films progress in general.

I have the feeling that this is all he was aloud to say. Idk why Legendary is holding stuff back. What im disappointed with is that it doesnt seem like anyone asked him any legit ?s like possible release date, filming update or anymore details.


Whats annoying is now all the doom and gloom naysayers will be coming out again. People also need to remember 2012 was never an official set release date just a target one as Brian Rogers said in his interview

Ok guys here your update someone I know contacted Max Borenstein at the beginning of the month on Twitter and he said it is going good so here's the update they're still scripting the movie so go on Max Borenstein twitter page and see it plus don't ask him any more questions about Godzilla I already tried

This doesn't really tell us anything more, but at the very end of this article, they say that while at the Kapow! Comic-Con, Gareth also mentioned he has been to Toho, and they were very generous, and "showered him with freebies." Just thought that was interesting because I'm sure he didn't fly there without any ideas for his movie to toss at Toho in person. Here's the article:

What I am taking from all this is that all that they are waiting on is for the script to be completed. Which is why he didnt really release anything new or major is because they are waiting on the script. I'm sure Edwards is having a hand in writing it as well. So if thats the case fine by me because once the script is complete then everything else will come together

im sure theyre planning on doing this as a franchise and not one single movie. Thats probably why we dont have a release date yet because theyre trying to craft a new franchise together and that takes a lot of time for big ones like this and we dont want it rushed obviously.

I'm not that disappointed, but then again i honestly wasn't expecting anything big anyways.

An while i'm glad Legendary is taking there time with this project an not just rushing a half-ass film on screen for a quick cash grab, i do find it disappointing that this doesn't seem like a bigger priority at Legendary esp with Batman coming to an end this year.

I hope we don't have to wait another 6 month's before we get anymore news.

Good to hear that Edwards has had meetings with Toho. Im sure the key thing has just been getting a good story and script together. Is anyone going to SD comic con?

Well ''Bloody-Disgusting'' posted pretty much the same article as ''Comic-Book-Movie'' but they also added something else Edward's said which say's they have been working on the script for almost a year an now there (waiting)... Is this waiting for approval from Legendary an Toho or... That much is unclear, you can read below an make your own assumption's.

Gareth Edward's - “Well, we are in the worst part of the whole film making process which is waiting. We spent almost a year working on the script and on different drafts, going back and forth trading emails with the production company and everything. I had this lucky chance of writing with Mark and so I feel like, it’s a strange feeling, because at the same time I feel like a lot has happened, but at the same time I’m so deep in the project…
