I'm surprise people wanted Toonami back after a April Fools gag? It was cool to see Tom for the first time in a long time but I guess people want to watch classic shows from the 90's and early 00's (Pre-2003). It's too bad the shows are likely going to be edit then uncut.

I'm hoping we get the kind of shows the old Toonami had, for all our nostalgia. I remember watching Bobobo-bo Bobobo everytime Toonami was on.

Wasn't the Midnight Run of Toonami uncut?
Apparently SWTOR said that I can invite 25 people for a 7 day trial of the game. PM me if interested.

Why is that surprising? Fans of Toonami wanted their precious programming back, but due to the current chief of CN, some removed all great anime from the channel, dislikes anime, and mainly wants to bring in the new generation with live action shows (Read an interview about him some long years ago). All that, plus the removal and absence of Toonami in general from the air after so many years, eventually, people will miss what they lost. And if possible, would jump at the chance to have it back again. Its not really surprising.

But I guess, to put it in a more, familiar format of understanding:
"The meteorite was simply a detonator, nothing more, all it did was set off a time bomb...That was created by us humans."
-Godzilla vs. Mothra/Godzilla and Mothra: The Battle for Earth (Love this film, recently got the double feature DVD today)

To fit this with how surprised you are about Toonami fans demanding it back and actually obtaining it.

Adult Swim, when they pulled that April Fool's Toonami Joke back in April, it was the meteorite/detonator that set the Time Bomb off (Toonami fans, and us wanting Toonami back). Its that simple really.

But before that, Toonami fans remained dormant since there seemed to be no hope of its revival. They still wanted it back, but they kept it low/silent since they weren't organized, no channel was interested in bringing back Toonami, and there was no real solid evidence that putting Toonami back on the air after all this time would bring in high ratings and profit. The April Fool's Prank completely changed all of that. Ratings sky-rocketed, viewers were overwhelmingly pleased and happy with Toonami's brief return from the dead, and (from what I understood) about 84-87 percent of viewers watched the whole event all the way to the very end. Only some chunk went away around 5ish in the morning.

And of course, the internet exploded, Toonami fans were awake, they were happy to see their memories alive, but sad since it was a one time thing. Until Adult Swim offered to bring it back if there was enough support and demand behind it. Some thought it was impossible, others thought it wasn't going to happen, and tons thought AS were just having another round of sh!ts and giggles. But in the end, we pulled through and managed to bring Toonami back.

You shouldn't be surprised Hellspawn, after all there weren't any surprises to begin with lol.

Yes! All efforts have paid off! We did it! For those who actually helped out in Toonami's revival by Twittering the hashtag, petition signing, contacting CN, and showing non-stop support by keeping the torch burning, should give yourself some major credit. Anyone else who doubted all of this was going to happen and never bothered to help...Well, Toonami faithful still made it without you guys. Skreeeonk yeah!

I'd expect the opposite to happen, considering it's going to be during the Adult Swim block. And last time I checked. those dudes at Adult Swim don't give a fat fooook. It's just their style.

I want a TOM show when toonami gets back, won't get but I'd watch it. Glad to see Tom is coming back though after all these years, CN needs to get the rights and dub the final season of sailor moon and Inuyasha the final act for Toonami.

Nope neither Sailor Stars nor The final act have an English dub release.

Which is weird, considering InuYasha The Final Act has been on hulu.com for like, years now. And there hasnt even been a DVD release, here or in Japan, as far as I know.

Maybe the return of Toonami will rectify that. We can only hope (well, I can only hope).

I can't say I'm not a little disappointed with the lineup (it's basically the regular Saturday AS lineup), but I'm really excited about it.

If your sources are to that of TV guide's listings, then your are mistaken my dear friend. What they displayed and presented is nothing more then a assumed line-up. Which is understandable since Adult Swim has yet to come up with a official line-up for the 26th. I'm not the only who has picked up on this, across the net, others as well have picked up on this and had noticed this. Rest assured that the Toonami you knew and love from the 90's (With maybe a different anime show or two) will return in full swing.

After all, Toonami's return was just announced, now all that we need to do is continue to show support, and wait until next Saturday. Adult Swim knows what the fans want from Toonami, to screw up at this point would be illogical and will surely cause a ghoulish backlash from the fans in general.

Well...You could simply just tell FUNimation that you want that to happen....Literally, you can.
https://twitter.com/#!/FUNimation

FUNimation are asking the Toonami faithful (Toonami fans) what they want on the Toomani block. Just tweet them what you'd like to see and hope that enough people support that same suggestion.

Oh, and what DagarahX stated is correct, TV Guide is only assuming since they don't know about the Toonami deal completely, so they are just going off of what AS normally runs on Saturday nights just to be on the side safe and not make any mistakes. So overall, Toonami is pretty much safe in that territory.

Plus, since Funimation are asking what fans want to see, then maybe we can shape it up. Mix some old classic anime shows along with some new anime content.

I won't count DBZ coming back if Nicktoons owns the rights to Dragon Ball. I guess Beast Wars and Reboot coming back would be awesome though.

I want Ronin Warriors! :D

I'd actually like them to play some new shows. Same toonami format and same kinds of shows, but not just the same ones they used to play.

Cartoon network and Nicktoons are sharing the rights Toonami showed classic DBZ on the April fools showing.

That was one day only thing. Unless CN only show DBZ and not the other DB series like Kai, GT or the original Dragon Ball then I don't think it's possible for them to play DBZ again. I remember reading over a year ago that Nicktoons play Kai since CN rights to air Dragon Ball ended years ago after they played Movie 12 & 13 on CN in 2006.
