There's nothing wrong with being cartoony. Not every superhero film has to be ultra dark & depressing like Christopher Nolan's Batman films

IMO a comic-book film needs to feel like a goddamn comic. The MCU has achieved that perfectly. If anything, this film looks like it NEEDS to be more 'cartoony'. Spider-man is the last marvel property that needs to be super-serious. The last trailer made it look a little less brooding, but still not quite where it needs to be.

Who cares if it was cartoony? The Avengers was fun. Not every superhero film has to be overly melodramatic and dull like Nolan's Batman films.

I think the Lizard looks better with the white jacket. I'm still giving the movie a chance and I doubt it's going to be as bad as the haters make it out to be.

Its because its the Goddman Batman!
It was supposed to be brooding and dark since 1939(minus killing criminals of course).

Fix'd. The first 2 Raimi flicks were pretty sobering when compared to most other Marvel movies. SM3 was just a goof-fest.

And yes, Amazing Spider-Man looks far more cartoony than Spider-Man 1 or 2.

The Amazing Spiderman looks like it will be good, and I hope it does, especially after seeing clips of the Lizard, will it be as good the Avengers, I doubt it, but will it be a good movie anyway, I hope so.

Though I still say there needs to be a live action CARNAGE!!!!

They need to get Venom right first.

There's a FOUR minute trailer out now, which is basically the last one with a clip in front, and I have my trademark nitpicks. I am one of the few people who want to see this movie but --

- Peter needs to keep his freaking mask on.
- Peter with a skateboard just screams, "The producer want it to appeal to kids and that's what kids do, right?"
- I hope Connors isn't a kooky bad guy from the start. In the comics he's a Jekyll/Hyde sort of character with a family.

This is my main issue as well... what's the point of being a masked hero... if you constantly take your mask off?

Even if it's just in front of a kid (I will admit, I DID like that bit where he gave him the mask and told him to put it on, that was cute)... but still, that kid could someday say "MOM! That kid over there is the guy that is spider-man!" Or he could grow up to be a villian...

I think that's the studio meddling with the mask. Since they(Sony) is paying the actor, they want him to show his mug as much as they can.

Good point.

I won't lie, I had major reservations about this film - my biggest one was rebooting it so soon.
But after the trailer with The Avengers, and last nights 4+ minute preview, I'm stoked for this. And I agree with the constant unmasking, but that bit in the car with the kid made me smile from ear to ear.
Excellent.

I thought it was bloody corny.

"Put the mask on, it'll make you strong!" Uh, no. That's not something you say when trying to comfort a kid. That's something you say when you're trying to pull a prank on the retarded kid in middle school (not that I ever did such a thing, if you're curious). Call me biased, but I couldn't take that seriously.

I'm also interested in how a broken headlight can quickly set fire to an entire SUV...unless the lizard was carrying a drum of gasoline with him on his rampage and doused each car before he threw them off the bridge. Which, if that's the case, is quite a dick-ish move on his part.

I will admit, that whole "Oh no, small knives! My only weakness!" bit was kinda funny. Other than that, the 4-min trailer just screamed "MEH" to me.

I showed a friend from work the trailer and he went hysterical after the small knives bit... It was kind of creepy.

"Oh NO! You found my weakness! It's small knives!!!"

My friend: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Dude has issues... hilarious issues.

Diamond has just released images of some Busts for the movie.

Showing us Spider-man's first suit. Before he makes his good ol "RednBlues"

As well as what could be considered our very first, CLEAR idea of what lizard is going to finally look like.
