At least he didn't die. If they pit him in a Heisei film he would've died.

Anguirus vs Mecha Anguirus could be one of them.

That would have been awesome, of course, but never would have happened. Anguirus has never been particularly popular in Japan.

Yeah, poor Rodan. I fear he will never be Godzilla's equal again.

Search your feelings; you KNOW it to be true!!

Actually, that sounds kind of weird coming me, the Rodan fanatic.

Rodan and Anguirus will not have strong roles again until MG, Mothra, and KG lose their popularity.

Just be glad it wasn't Anguirus playing the washed up corpse in Godzilla: Tokyo SOS.

Hence why I hope the baddie in LPG is Rodan.

Anguirus wasn't really ever popular in Japan. The main reason he was reused in 1972 was only because Rodan and Varan were in shitty condition. Not sure what drove his inclusion in GvMG though. Point being, Anguirus' popularity is much, MUCH more an American thing than a Japanese one. These movies are made for Japanese audiences, not American ones, so there ya go.

A little too early for rodan to make an appearance in the reboot. Maybe wait a movie or two(if the reboot is a success, which I believe it will) before including rodan into the possible series following the reboot.

Nah, I think Rodan is an EXCELLENT choice for Godzilla's first opponent.

Granted, I'm very biased in this opinion...

They need to forget about sequels and just make the best single film possible - then if it's a success worry about that stuff. I hate it when a movie feels like the trailer for its sequel. They could go all out and use Ghidorah for all I care - the movie just needs to be good.

???

How is it too early to use Rodan? He's one of the few who can be used in the first film since he's origin is simple, the same as Godzilla's in fact, he's not like Mechagodzilla where you have to save him for a future film. :?

I would love to tell you what I think but I'm afraid that it might lead to a pointless arguement that's completely off topic. :-x

There isn't gonna be some pointless argument, I just wanna know, why do you think it's too early to use Rodan in the first film?

I just don't think toho would give the rights of rodan or mothra to LP until they see what LP does with the reboot. And if it reaches a certain point of success than I think toho will let LP use them if they plan on doing sequels.

^Okay, I think I see what heiseiGfan is trying to say.

....So, heiseiGfan, would you prefer the film be a solo, or have a brand new monster?

It can't be solo. LP announced that Godzilla will fight more than one monster. Maybe the Gryphon might make an appearance. But let's get back to the main topic.

The Gryphon? No way. That would never happen.

That's like Bagan randomly popping up in another Toho made Godzilla film. That ship sailed quite some time ago.
