1. Soldiers
2. Helicopters/tanks
3. Jets
4. Super X
5. Mechagodzilla

If you defeat MG and complete the objective you unlock an achievement like "Nothing Works", also if you complete the objective without warning the military it would unlock another achievement like "Undetected".

Well, then it would have to be a completely different kind of game then what's being planned.

This is going to be a fighting game, not an adventure/ "open world" type of game.

This is exactly correct. I want to say that I'm not avoiding an open-world sandbox game because I don't like the idea - but specifically because I want to put all invested money into what I know I can best deliver on - which is monster-on-monster combat.

If we make a bunch of money on this project, and have the financial freedom to explore something different, I'm all for it.

Seems like they're usually in a format that can't be messed with. Or at least one that I can't just import into Blender, lol.

Not that I'm savvy with that sort of thing at all. I had only learned how to rip models from N64 games, lol.

I'm not certain. It's likely that the export format would not be readable by end-users, since the animation and skeletal data is stored in a proprietary format. This is important, because allowing users to change animations would pretty quickly break the game.

Not necessarily, it can be a larger/long map with the close third person view until you encounter Super X/Mechagodzilla2.

A long map can be used for a ton of different game types, I know you probably just want to play in a boxing ring though.

Yes, let's just ignore the comments from the guy who will be developing the game.

Actually, the boxing ring is one of my least favorite stages of all time. I just found the whole idea of it to be a little bizarre. I don't know why you're even making assumptions about what I would 'prefer', stage-wise, in the first place.

What you're suggesting, is something like G:U's story mode; where you would be in a third person perspective before getting into close proximity with your opponent(s). Whether or not that's something people would like to see again is all up to the fans, Mr. Strange, and if the budget would allow for a more robust single player.

AH. YEAH. That's a good point.

I'll just have to be happy changing monster roars to fart noises or something then.

Oh yeah, how many stages should we expect? If I recall correctly, DAMM had the least in the series with 8 stages. Is that a good number?

ALSO, I think there was some discussion about new sorts of "challenges," like "protect the egg," and I was thinking of another possible one. A city could have globs of pollution stuck to buildings and on the ground. You'd have to destroy all the pollution in the city (with your beam I guess) within a certain time limit. If you don't, the globs will merge together (not sure how that would be animated, lol) into Hedorah. Depending on how many globs you were able to destroy, Hedorah would be either MORE or less powerful than he'd normally be. This could also work with Destoroyah, only instead there would be juvenile forms running about, witch you'd have to fight with and kill. They wouldn't have full movesets, of course.

I'd guess and say we'll have more. It's been said in this topic's massive backlog of pages that the cities were hard to develop and were a waste of money.
We'll probably get one or two city stages and a ton of environments. They don't have armadas of buildings to design, so I'd bargain it'd be easier to pump them out faster and in larger amounts.

Sure, but there would still be time and money going into making them. After, say, New York City and Tokyo, or even just one generic "city" stage, are there THAT MANY varied environments worth adding? Volcano... Ocean... Jungle/Forest maybe. Desert? Though I don't think Godzilla has ever been in a desert, lol. Unless you want to get technical and say... OH YEAH. Antartica. So that's...

New York
Tokyo
Boxing Ring
Monster Island
Volcano (Mt. Fuji?)
Ocean (Maybe just that lake from Vs. Biollante?)
Forest (since Monster Island kind of has that jungle vibe to it already I guess?)
Antarctica

That's a rather solid 8 I think? Maybe Planet X and World Children's Land instead of Ocean and Forest if you wanted to draw more from the Godzilla series.

Ideally, I'd go with:
-Tokyo
-New York City
-Monster Island
-Mt. Fuji
-Area G
-Planet X
-Boxing Ring (although I'd prefer the MMA octagon)
-Saradia

Two different cityscapes, a forest/jungle, a mountain with optional volcanic stuff, an ice level, an alien landscape, a fighting ring, and a desert.

Re: Your Movesets For Monsters In The New Kaiju Game

Postby Oasis_S » Mon May 14, 2012 6:12 pm

After watching Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster, I had an idea for Ebirah. He should have an attack that uses ammo and a lot of energy, to summon his buddy the giant condor to attack opponents, lol. I guess it would sort of be like an air strike, only easier to hit. The giant condor would leave after maybe... 20 seconds? But attacking him would get rid of him sooner. It probably wouldn't SEEM like he does much damage, but if you let him just keep pecking at you without doing anything about it, you'd lose a significant amount of health. 40-60 damage maybe? Has to be worth the risk of using up a bunch of energy, as well as the possibility of him getting defeated.

Surely Toho couldn't license something as simple as a giant condor...?

What about Worlds Children Land? Yeah I want Planet X but this amusement park is very iconic and one of the few places others monster games can't have since it's exclusive to the G verse.

It would be cool for a few real cities to be made. But i wonder if they could have pre-arranged city blocks that can be randomly generated so cities can be very different each match.

-Tokyo
-New York City
-Monster Island
-Mt. Fuji
-Planet X
- World Children's Land
- Antarctica
-Pacific Ocean

Those are my picks for levels and would cover most if not all of locations from movie battles.

Or a another idea is to have a really huge city created. Then during map select you can pick any of the other preset locations or the generic big city. When you select the generic one, you can slide the "green square" around to your preferred location. Then it will load that section and a little bit of the outlying city and fog to cut off what remains.
