There ought to be an attractive female character, but not like Megan Fox. Her sexiness needs to be more subdued, a little bit subtle. Not smacking you across the face with it. Someone like Yumiko Shaku in Godzilla x Mechagodzilla.

Bingo! With beauty comes a whole new level of sexiness.

One's that don't say things like this

Or act like this (Granted she was attractive, but couldn't act her way out of a paper bag esp in Godzilla)

How about none of that garbage, an actually have character's we ''Don't'' want Godzilla to step on.

Agreed, that way it will actually have some emotional impact when one of them does get vaporized. I have no doubt that they're gonna have at least one of the main characters killed.

I'd like to see him portraying the same guy as in Gojira

I absolutely think that this film be a new start for Godzilla, and NOT be tied to the original. It may make sense to us fans, but remember, there are millions of people who are going to walk into the movie that are not that intuitive with the story around the original Godzilla. However, it would be kind of cool to have a character that has that Dr. Serizawa-like quality. Not in physical appearance nor name per se, but in his personality or story - a war veteran who returns to find his fiance in love with another man. It could work for one of the human subplots and a nice tribute to the original.

I think it should be one of Dr. Serizawa's desendants, who discovers how to make a new, and more powerful Oxygen Destroyer.

It'll be a revamping, they'll cast Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken in the 201X movie.
Or he can be a desendent of Serizawa, he has an eye patch too.... yep close enough!

Steve Martin: Yes? No?

Postby cloverfan98 » Thu May 10, 2012 9:21 pm

Who else here really likes the Steve Martin character? Would you like to see him remade in the upcoming reboot? If so who should play him?

Maybe as a brief joke in the background but other then that just leave him in KOM and 1985. He's time has come and gone, the character has had his spotlight. Plus I can't see anyone other then Burr playing the role and since he's dead that just won't happen.

I actually enjoyed Dr. Martin, wish he appeared in more than just 2 movies. Dunno about bringing him back, but possibly a descendant, like the daughter/son/niece/nephew of his or something.

Steve Martin or a Steve Martin-like character would be very welcome in the film for me. I think that it would be great, actually to base a few characters in the movie on ones that we're familiar in from past films. Obviously, I don't want there to be any continuity with existing films, but having some familiar characters re-imagined would help to insure that the film fits into the Godzilla universe very neatly.

Yes!

But Burr's performance was so incredible, it would take some inspired casting to pull off. I'm thinking John Hamm off the top of my head, because I know he can pull off the emotion, and look damn good in a suit. Another thought...Jeff Goldblum. Not the super-goofy 'Blum the internet has come to love, but the one in "The Fly", "Body Snatchers" and more recently "Adam Resurrected" (flawed film, amazing acting).
