The contributor works with Matt on visual design, and works with me on combat technique. Once we have the plan hammered out, they'll have to trust us on the specifics of implementation. I think "setting the attribute numbers" is probably a pretty reasonable expectation.

That would be cool multiplayer also for long maps and you have to "defend the egg" or something.

"Defend the egg"...I like it. Hey it's different then the usual destroy more of the city then everyone else.

As much as I didn't like the Godzilla Jr. in G vs MG2, the idea just popped into my head. Maybe a time limit until it hatches, maybe if it hatches under your control or in your territory you win, because you become the parent (hot-potato/bomb).

Single player mode you could use your psychic link to hunt the egg down as the military tries to run away with it.

Also Grayshot that is a great idea!! A co-op mode to take down a super boss or go through story mode together. I also get what you mean with the movie scene fights. That was in the UFC game, you basically did the pay-per-view fights and had to win a certain way to complete the objective.

Me too kinda, I mean, all I would want added to it is tons of monsters, then it would be like a dream come true, but this game could be even better with a better combat system.

I want mine to be immortal, unless his head gets cut off.

Honestly, I don't want fan made mixed with Toho. There are so many different monsters already, if we can obtain them, that there would be no need. I feel if they do, it would need to be approved by the fans. It would have to fit the cast, they would need to blend in and not stick out like a giraffe with chainsaws and a jet-pack. (that would be my design)

A giraffe with chain saws and a jet pack? Wonder how that gets formed as a monster, but would be cool to play as!

Totally. I've seen the artwork for the character, and he looks like a monster that would accompany a Godzilla movie.

Godzilla Universe. Not too original, but if this is going to feature many monsters, the name fits.

So let me get this right, arnt there lots of games under this? Like, a godzilla one, king kong one, gamera one (if you get all their permission)

What about the main godzilla? I didnt think that godzilla 2000 should have been it, he was only in 1 movie, I think it should be the showa godzilla, I mean, he was in the most movies than any other godzilla, and he never died, but when it comes to which godzilla design, I like the design from terror of mechagodzilla, classic, not to goofy or anything, he seems good, but im not saying you shouldnt have any other godzilla, heres a top 4 godzilla's that might be best for the game.

4. Godzilla 2000,
3. Original Godzilla (1954)
2. Godzilla 1990's,
1. Godzilla 1975, or just any showa godzilla sounds good to me.

Well, as far as gameplay is concerned, you can definitely expect this to be along the lines of "STE 2.0". STE had a great combat system. With some minor tweaks, it could be even better.

Again, this will be developed by much of the same team as the Pipeworks games, and will be using the same technology. Just something to keep in mind.

I was thinking STE with the speed of DAMM, and a lot of more subtle features from Unleashed, like the beam wars (though I'm not sure I want that idea to return at all), bracing, health system, and energy charging. Maybe not so subtle then. The idea of stages from Unleashed as well. Not necessarily ruined cities, but how stages were presented as immediately visually different, offering various kinds of "atmosphere."

So then maybe it'd be more like Unleashed minus motion controls, and plus juggling.

Why not release by era?

Start with Showa

then down the road release a Heisei pack, then millennium.

I agree with much of what you said.

However, I wasn't too fond of the manual energy charging system from Unleashed. In general, it was good to have energy, so you had to be charging constantly. It became a bit tedious to have to be holding down a button for much of the match. And visually distracting to have the monsters' backs glowing all the time.

I liked the idea of having a choice between health regeneration or energy regeneration. I just simply didn't like mechanically having to keep a button pressed so often.

Beam weapons:
Speaking of pressing and holding a button down, doing that to charge up and release your beam in DAMM/StE was really satisfying. It made you feel really powerful to blast other players and knock them over with a fully charged beam.

That was completely absent from G:U's weapon system. The fact that the majority of the monsters couldn't even defeat someone with a beam attack was hugely unsatisfying and very unlike the source material.

The targeting system was also incredibly awkward and not intuitive in G:U. Not to mention Megalon and Space Godzilla couldn't even aim straight. Controlling the monsters' head with the right thumbstick was a really neat feature in DAMM/StE. It feels more natural since most games use the right thumbstick for aiming anyway.

Having to plant your feet and remain still to charge up and release your beam was also more accurate to the source material. Most monsters don't run around firing their beams in the films.

Disclaimer: I know this is a game and not a film.

I think what Mr. Strange is saying is this:

Godzilla is the base game, the later ones(expansion packs) will be like gamera or other toho monsters that can be added to the base game.

Anyways, how about Godzilla: Ready to Rumble

I always thought the use of the beams in the game were unrealistic to the films, I mean you could spam beams in StE all day while if the movies Godzilla used it once, maybe twice.
