Was a fun game, but pretty much going to stop playing it. The developers have been making stupid decisions over and over, often completely ignoring what the community wants/saying to do it. The reworked jungle is a prime example. They said it would balance things out better, and everyone told them it would destroy what little balance their team had already achieved. Lo and behold, months later they are still desperately strengthening/weakening certain champions, changing numbers on certain minion camps, etc.
Set dates for reworks of champions that never happen on time.
Are absolutely terrible at balancing.
Try catering to both the tournament level players and the clueless beginners, which just makes balancing even worse.
Well basically, the jungle had tougher creeps at each location, but they gave much more experience and gold. The respawn times were also longer, which gave players ample time between each "clear" to go help other lanes or invade the enemy's jungle. It also made counter-jungling much more effective, since even robbing the other playing of one camp could severely hurt their leveling. Now, all the minions except the red and blue buff respawn so quickly there really isn't a point to it except to make them waste time.TG wrote:I wasn't around before the reworked jungle, but I don't really see any issues with it. Can you elaborate on the differences? I don't jungle much since I don't have the runes for it, but it's fun every now and then to do in Co-op.
It's not that them, say, delaying a rework a month or so that is bad. It is when they intentionally make champions terrible (which they admitted doing to Eve) to rework them, but then leave them in that state for over a year. This is one example:To be fair, would you want them to release champions/reworks when they aren't ready? Issues pop up, I don't think it's a big deal to delay them if need be. I do think they need to really slow down champion production and focus on other things such as remakes, however.
Which is a problem, as they had admitted to nerfing her that hard on purpose. They rarely tweak champions, but instead nerf the hell out of them or buff them way too much.I find this to be a flaw in any game like DOTA. There will always be champs that are OP or UP; balance is virtually impossible. The only thing that I'd agree with this on is Eve, who was nerfed so hard that she's literally the worst champion in the game, by far.
By listening, I was referring to certain concepts that the community may have offered input on. For example, there was a topic on the forums about a canceled champion named Omen. He was a pretty awesome spikey-demon-lizard thing. They said they canceled him because "he didn't look unique enough and had no personality." But nearly every single person who posted in the thread was head-over-heels about the design and really wanted the champion to be released. Instead of owning up and admitting they were wrong about how the community would react, they insisted that the players wouldn't like it even as thousands of people replied and said the exact opposite.Okay, here's something that bothers me because I see it all the time; you said Riot doesn't listen to the community earlier, but here say that they do (but only the idiots). So which is it?

The other reason is because Riot was getting to the point where they were finally balancing the junglers. With the rework and its emphasis on AoE damage and speed, many previously viable junglers became useless and certain other ones like Udyr, Skarner, and Shyvana basically became must-pick-or-ban level.
It's not that them, say, delaying a rework a month or so that is bad. It is when they intentionally make champions terrible (which they admitted doing to Eve) to rework them, but then leave them in that state for over a year. This is one example:
-They announced a stealth remake to make the champions who rely on it more fun and viable in games
-No mention of it for several months.
-When brought up, they stated all the particle effect artists were working on Dominion. After they got done, they would finish the stealth remake.
-That was over 6 months ago.
Which is a problem, as they had admitted to nerfing her that hard on purpose. They rarely tweak champions, but instead nerf the hell out of them or buff them way too much.

Edit: Another example is like when they first reworked GankPlank to give him his current passive. It used to have a much stronger slow. When they released the info for it, it was clear from day 1 that it was way too strong. But Riot instead used the "well you guys haven't played it yet" excuse. They proceeded to nerf his passive several times over the next few patches.
Honestly, it probably was a flaw. They were starting to show some real progress though in terms of balancing it. And while there are many junglers who can be considered viable now that weren't before, the changes sort of caused those "uber" junglers to be so much better it isn't worth picking the new viable champs if the "uber" ones were available. While obviously for the average player it wouldn't make much of a difference, but the higher your rank gets (I was ~1450 last season and haven't played much this season), the more noticeable it becomes.THE GODZILLA wrote:I feel like the flaw with that is that Counter-Jungling sounds WAY too crippling when it goes right. Imagine Trundle running into your jungle, curbstomping you because he's extremely good in 1v1 jungle fights, and then stealing your buffs. You've died and you're set back further because your creeps are all gone. Otherwise, I don't mind the sounds of the old jungle, mainly because I feel like it hurts too much when you go to gank and fail to kill someone.
And to be fair, I've read up a lot of stuff that says more junglers became viable than in the old jungle. There's still obvious Uber Tier junglers though, three of which you listed.
So would I, but it makes you wonder why it takes them so long. Another example is the observer mode. It took them almost three years to finish it after the game had been released, yet DotA 2 isn't even out of beta and has one of similar or better quality (and the League observer mode was "delayed" to add several of the features found in DotA 2's observer mode).I have to agree that this is bad production on Riot's part. I do recall seeing that there were Stealth update sneak-peeks revealed on the forums, but they could have been fake. Who knows when they'll finish it; I'd rather have the update not need another rehaul and being released later than scheduled than the opposite.
Well, the problem is that if you nerf a champion, another champion becomes the new OP champion. If you buff a champion, it risks becoming the new OP champion. Things constantly change in games like these, so doing changes like this really doesn't surprise, nor bother me. I only dislike nerfing a champion to become unplayable (Eve).
Well they felt that the design made him look to common, something along the lines of "Omen looks like there would be thousands of him." The problem I had with that answer was that many of League's champions look rather bland and unimpressive. Garen, Lee Sin, etc are pretty run-of-the-mill character designs. I was more so disappointed because they have so many human/humanoid champions, and then canceled an awesome looking monster style champion.I know of Omen and the controversy around him. I heard that he is eventually going to be implemented into the game; the problem before was that they were split as to whether to release him or not. Some didn't like him and wanted to change him around, while others were fine with him. Riven was released instead, which doesn't bother me since I enjoy her concept.
