Digimon has D-Arts, and they're being neglected.

You will notice that D-arts have so far only focused on the humanoid, Mega-level Digimon. No Gryemon, Kabuterimon, Seadramon etc. Those will clearly fit in MA, if they are just doing the likes of Omnimon and Omegamon in D-arts (and thise aren;t even more popular than the Adevnture Champion levels).

Wouldn't the joints on those tentacles also break ff pretty easy? I think that wires would be the way to go. On a side-note, did Revoltech ever make the Atragon?

Smaller the joints the easier to come apart; bendy wires can break and puncture the "skin" of a figure...

So...Both have disadvantages that the designer has to take into account, right?

I never said anything about their sculpts or paintjobs. And I agree that they're all pretty amazing.

Wut? I don't know how you could've possibly come to that conclusion. There's absolutely no indication that there won't be Gamera/Godzilla monsters in SHM. Nor have they said anything about any anime monsters besides Angels in the line. If we're getting more live action kaiju (and I'm positive we are) we'll see them in the Tamashii Nations Summer Festival in July. They save the real big stuff for their BIG shows.

Just because they're introducing non Godzilla monsters doesn't mean you shoild stand outsode with a sandwich board chanting "The end is nigh! Repent! Repent!" And we still have five SHM releases that haven't been released yet. Oh and no Mothra. Bandai wouldn't do a line without putting Mothra in there.

A MA Irys with articulated tentacles the same way the Godzilla figures have articulated tails would look like ass.

Kaiyodo did an Irys action figure back in 1999 that had tentacles that were articulated with wires the same way the Revoltechs are. And it looked terrific and very true to film when posed the right way. That's really the only way to go with a character like that.

Of course you know this because you've seen it, right? The sad thing is I think you'd be disappointed if it looked amazing.

If Kaiyodo already did one what's the point of them making another? I'm positive Tamashii would knock it out of the park. Even with the wire system the rubber always manages to limit the movement.

Nah, Tamashii would nail it. And I don't see them allowing Kaiyodo to do two of the more popular Gamera characters.

Of course I would be. Because MonsterArts can do no wrong. I forgot.

Because it's been 13 years, perhaps?

I'm positive Tamashii would knock it out of the park.

Of COURSE you think they will.

You do remember how skinny Irys' tentacles are right? We're not talking Baragon tails here. Have you even SEEN the original Kaiyodo Irys?

Nah, Tamashii would nail it.

Of course they will. Seriously whenever you talk all I hear is blind bias talking. It's REALLY hard to take your posts seriously when every single one of them is just you going, "Nah, MonsterArts is best. Shut up."

And I don't see them allowing Kaiyodo to do two of the more popular Gamera characters.

Uh huh.

It seems fairly obvious that Kaiyodo/Revoltech is going to put out the Gamera figs if they are any. Kadokawa seems to be comfortable with the treatment their characters are getting through this line. And there is little sign of the MonsterArts expanding their lineup past Heisei Godzilla entries right?

I have that fig, and some of my wires did break. But with careful work, you can get dynamite poses.

^Exactly.

I really don't know how you could achieve this look the way Bandai does with the MonsterArts tails.

If they did really smooth ball joints and included alot of them...that could be interesting.

Just slamming in ball joints would result in an incredibly heavy system, which would easily wear out the joints. It would be difficult to pose, as well. Imagine having to adjust 60+ joints to get a new pose.

At any rate Kaiyodo's most likely not gonna be the ones make it. Sorry Sci Fi Revoltech fans. I suppose you should just enjoy the ones they already made.

And Legion... I never suggested that anyone shut up. I'm not really into badgering people about the stuff they collect. That's your "schtick" remember.

Yes, there's no guarantee that Kaiyodo will do G3 monsters. But there's no guarantee that Bandai/Tamashii will do them either. But if either company does, I'd prefer it to be the one that's already started doing them.

And Legion... I never suggested that anyone shut up.

No, but you're really quick to shoot down any opinion that doesn't place MonsterArts as the absolute best.

That's your "schtick" remember.

Sure it is.

So offering a contrary opinion is shooting someone down?

No... it's not. And I never try to make people feel stupid for the things they collect or what they felt should come out from a manufacturer.

What Legion said - that as Kaiyodo did the G1 & G2 monsters, they should do G3 too!

Regardless, a Tamashii Gamera was already hinted at. GreenAiden55 posted a pic featuring Godzilla fighting Gamera from Bluefin/Tamashii's facebook. Hopefully we get it in 2012. Before Mothra would be nice.

Of course I would be happy for the Kaiyodo fans if G3 monsters were released. Just disappointed for myself, lol.

Let's just break this Revoltech/Tamashii debate down to the following dispassionate points:

- it depends on a (very) personal point of view, which variant one would possibly enjoy/appreciate/look forward to more
- both companies/lines have NOT yet said ANYTHING about future "Gamera III"-releases
- for Revoltech fans it would be incredibly cool to finally get a complete Heisei trilogy figure set
- for Tamsahii fans it would be incredilbly cool if they'd enter the Gamera universe, especially with the uber-cool looking G3 monsters
- we shouldn't throw phrases against each other about who's positive or negative, it's just to no achievement

Let's just bury it this way friends, OK?

However, now comes my own sentimental point of view:

I'd appreciate if Gamera 1999, Irys & Hyper Gyaos get the MonsterArts treatment at some point. This is because personally I simply like SHMA a little bit more, mostly because their figures are overall bigger (and due to that I feel like they're also even more detailed), have even more joints (e.g. the tails), are actually IN SCALE to each other (that's really rare with affordable Kaiju toy lines) and Tamashii has not yet officially "banned" major characters from the line, like Revoltech did, which I believe like killed off their sales and the line as a whole. Hate me, but I sold my Revoltechs after I got to know there'll be NO Godzilla, NO Ghidorah and NO Mechagodzilla, plus I'm on the fence about correct scale, anyway).

However, despite of myself favorizing SHM, I'll be 100% OK with it, if BANDAI decides against Gamera and Revoltech possibly doing them instead. No problem at all, I'd actually be glad for the ones, who are into the Revoltechs. I might even very well consider getting back the other Heisei Gamera Revoltechs, if there might ever be a complete set of characters from all three films available.
