I don't think Evil Dead II juggles the horror/comedy feel very well. I prefer the straight horror feel of the first film and the full-on slapstick tone of Army of Darkness.

I don't think the first one works well as horror film. I always thought the poor acting and script were because the film was trying to be bad.

That's why it got popular right? It was supposed to be a serious movie, but it was soooo bad that people couldn't stop laughing at it. Then they did they sequel as a joke, and Army of Darkness was actually a real movie, right? That's the story I heard, anyway.
Before it can be filmed, drawn, acted or programed, it must be written.

Eh I don't think that's it either. Personally I like the DIY quality of the movie.

If MGM, the studio behind Cabin In The Woods, hadn't gone through bankruptcy, the movie would've been adapted into an expansion pack for Left 4 Dead 2. True story, ask the director.http://www.joblo.com/horror-movies/news/cabin-in-the-woods-almost-got-left-4-dead

I wonder if they would of used the actual monsters from the film instead of the regular infected for the facility portion of the level.
Believe it or not, George isn’t at home.
Please leave a message at the beep.
I must be out, or I’d pick up the phone.
Where could I be?
Believe it or not, I’m not home!

I don't know if I would sit through it again (None of the Jokes would be fresh) but it was probably the best movie I've seen this year. (I mean, I liked the Avengers but...this was better)

I think Cabin in the Woods was a sleeper hit of this year since it did okay at the box office. This, Dredd and ParaNorman are the films that I wish more people saw in theaters.

Okay so I've gone and FINALLY saw this film and it's good. Not the greatest horror film of all time and I kind of disagree with this one person saying it's the watchmen of horror movies but still good.

I didn't like the ending but I liked it when all the monsters got out however am I the only one who was dissapointed that there were no monster fights? Also I didn't really find the comedy that funny and the only real funny thing I can think of was when Chris Hemsworth crashed and burned.

I liked a lot of the creature designs but I wish we could of gotten an explanation for them and more on the gods, like are they actual gods or Lovecraft gods? But yeah, liked it but not the ending.

Very surpiseing movie! I wont ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen but...it seemed more like a dark comedy then anything. Also the unicorn part was great as well as the merman scene.

I did an entire 10 page paper on "A Cabin in the Woods" for a film studies class. It's a smart film. In my opinion it's the best horror effort in years, even though it practically morphs into the Scifi genre by the end of the film.
