History of suits

Postby James23873 » Fri Sep 03, 2010 7:34 pm

I think it would be a great idea to add an article to the site that explains the various suits used for monsters. It can discuss the history of the suit, such as how it was designed, who wore it. It could describe it's changes from previous versions(like how godzillas look changed), and how the designs changed from era to era, example, how king ghidorahs look changed from showa all the way to millenium. What do you think?

alot of sites have this feature, but I'd like to see it done with the elaborate background details that only a site with alot of resources can provide.

Ive always been really interested in reading about what motivated a certain design, or where their inspiration came from.

Exactly what I was thinking. I believe it could be done here. Not all at once, but as an ever expanding article as new details arise.

I tried to get them to do it on the previous site, but it unforunately didn't take off. But I gladly support this.

I'd love to see this on Toho Kingdom as well. I find it strange that this hasn't been covered. :?

If this is doable, I think it would be a great addition to the Main Site. I would support this in whatever inconsequential way I could. 8-)

Thanks for the support, but gvamp poses a good question. Is this information out there? First we would need to determine where these resources exist, and see how we could get access to them.

i support this 1000000%

it would make for an awesome read... id love to see how suits like Biollante and Keiser Ghidorah worked... as well as the many changes to classic monsters over the years...

and as for the "is the information out there?" question... G-fan did a few "history of (insert monsters name here)'s suit" so the info has to be there... i read about rodan and mothra...

i also think that odd trivia for the suits should be included like how appaaently King Ghidorahs wings were originally gonna be rainbow... odd... :?

Haha I could just see the menacing Ghidorah descending from the sky on a pair of rainbow wings. :D

Anyway I didn't even think about how those massive suites worked, specially ones like Keizer Ghidorah with all the wires and the four legs. All those things would be interesting to read.

as for the "is the information out there?" question... G-fan did a few "history of (insert monsters name here)'s suit" so the info has to be there...

Is there anyone with copys of these issues, or for that matter with any reliable article that could be used as a source of information. Maybe some interviews with the suite designers?

A brilliant idea, but this has been suggested to death. I'm afraid I can't remember the reasoning, but I think Arbok vetoed it.
