They're taking the artificiality well beyond the actual quirks of the suit, in my opinion. It never looked that phony to me on film, especially the crinkled-up wings.

Yeah, I'm just not feeling that mold at all.

Rodan's wings in general are in drastic need of a redesign anyway.

Like aluminum foil that's been balled-up and then flattened out.

it is a bit over-board, but I don't mind. I definitely think they were using page 68 in the pictorial book of godzilla vol 2 (i don't have a scanner) as one of their reference images though.

That's the impression I got from the 25cm MechaGodzilla, the wrinkling effect on the legs reminds me of bent aluminum foil... or foam rubber, which is kind of why I prefer the less dented 30cm version, which I hope to get my hands on sooner or later.

it's wrinkled, but it's not THAT wrinkled. a 100 year old woman would have fewer wrinkles than crumpled aluminum foil

I confess, that was hyperbole for effect. :P

The basic sentiment stands, though.

Got my X-Plus 25cm Gigan today! http://zillamaster91.deviantart.com/#/d4y9ny4
A FANTASTIC figure if I say so myself. Makes me want to buy more X-Plus items....but alas, I must hold myself back - I still have the 30cm Godzilla 1989 to wait for at the end of June!

Awesome pic zilla master. Really does justice to a figure thats come out kind of quietly around here. Also, the Rodan actually looks better in person than the initial images. There i thought the wings were borderline ridiculous. This is much more passable.

So at long last (as a birthday gift) I got my own S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla! And ho boy, is it awesome.

The sculpt is just amazing, as is the attention to detail.

And best of all, no messed up eyes!

Two things- 1). Why not post your review in the newly created review thread?

2). Are you going to do a video review on your youtube channel?

1) Shame. It will be lost in the pages soon enough- that SHM thread moves fast. Glad I went through the trouble to create the thread.

2) People likely ask because they don't know. Like I didn't.

Yeah but one look at my playlist of 150+ reviews would tell you "this guy probably reviews stuff."

So because your playlist has 150+ reviews that automatically means you'll review the SHM Godzilla? Riiiight.

A simple "yes" would've sufficed.

...there are videos on the internet?!

I ordered an 8" scale King Caesar with tag, an '89 Rodan with tag, and an 8" Burning Godzilla with Tag. The Caesar and the loose tag from Rodan I'm keeping, and I'll probably be listing the Burning G and untagged Rodan on Skreeonk.
Now it's dark...
