I contacted the seller as soon as Derringer made that statement. And yes the seller knows nothing has been officially announced yet BUT he has been to Comic Con for a number of years and has reliable infomation that it could be made official soon from what he told me in a reply. He has a 100% track record on stuff he has purchased and sold from past Comic-Cons on his Ebay profile. HOWEVER, I did make it clear to him that he does not stick to his word when Comic Con comes around I will get a full refund. End Of.

just an update....toyfreakz answered my email almost immediately and said they would send a new spacegodzilla and a mailer to send the defective one back to the distributer. i am very pleased with them and will continue to do business with them. tamashii's facebook page was also very helpful and offered to do what they could if the retail didn't.

This is why I try to stick to amazon for my sh monsterarts. They will over night you a new fig and you have 30 days to simply print the shipping label and send it back free of charge.

@Derringer: I known, you probably can't answer the following question right away, but still... is there any chance that this SDCC exclusive item may possibly get another (limited) release in Japan itself? I have to ask, because I reside in Germany and there'll most likely be no chance in hell for me to get that SDCC figure for an only halfway reasonable price if it really stays exclusive to that special convention. Especially the japanese folks will go nuts on it on eBay, when they wont have a chance to get it in their home country. Basically I'm just curious to know if I better should already become friends with the thought of having to skip this one or not...

Yeah, but I've heard that another SDCC Tamashii exclusive figure (I believe it was some DBZ character) has been re-released later, too. So possibly there's hope in this case, too...?

To my knowledge, they haven't been. I may be wrong, but I don't think so.

So far, the D-Arts Megaman and FiguArts DBZ Goku have just been variants of figures normally available, so a burning or meltdown Godzilla would fit the category well.
