The Good Things About Being In A Wolrd Of Monsters

Postby Living Corpse » Sun Apr 29, 2012 9:05 am

We all know the bad stuff that would happen if Toho's cast of monsters were real, it's a no brainier that damages to cities and lost of life would be the result of living in such a world but what would be the more beneficial side of living in the G verse? What are some of the good things that would result from living in a world where giant monsters are real?

Off the top of my head I figure we

1. Would be years ahead of our time tech wise since we would have forced ourselves to develop new technology to fight off monsters.

2. Probably make use of the regenerative monsters by trying to learn how they regenerate and then try to find a way to use it as medicine.

3. I guess if there's a huge asteriod headed our way Mothra or Battra would fly out in space get rid of it so we don't have to worry about it.

4. If we ever get invaded by aliens and their forces are too much for us to handle they'd still have to contend with Earth's monsters who may drive them back.

5 Try to find out how Godzilla and others feed off of nuclear energy. I guess they could find a way to make that useful for us *shrug* Hey the ANEB used to be just Sci-fi but now they are engineering bacteria that actually does feed off of uranium to clean up nuclear waste, kinda like they already made one that eats up oil spills.

6. I guess if they ever find a way to discover how Biollante breaks up into spores or how Spacegodzilla turns into a ball of energy they could make a way to telaport people? *Shrug*

7. Biology would probably be more interesting when the teacher get into the subject of kaiju and talk about the crazy ideas experts make to try and even fathom how such impossible creature have become, well, possible.

8. I guess being a scientist who works on Monster Island and observes and records their behavior and fights would be cool or hell just fooling around with their cells.

9. Being a pilot for one of the super weapons would probably be an honor I mean a lot of them are probably one of a kind so it's kinda a once in a lifetime moment kinda thing.

One benefit, of course, would be the hilarity of seeing how the Internet Rule 34s actual Kaiju. Why do I get the feeling one of those sites would be called monstercrush.com

The news would be a lot more entertaining. Why blow your money on DVDs or whatever? Just grab some popcorn, turn on CNN, and watch Rodan trash Baltimore.

Unless you happen to live in Baltimore, in which case looking out your window would be like a movie!

This may be the most realistic possibility I've ever heard in relation to this kind of question.

That's probably not a good thing.

Honestly I'm fine without them. The world has enough problems.

Something like Hurricane Katrina was horrible I don't think a giant monster who was woke up by the storm would help either.

^ Well to be fair, as bad as hurricanes are they are necessary since they help cool off the planet and keep it from overheating. I'm by no means saying the damage they cause is not horrible, just stating they exist for a reason beyond just smashing shit.

I guess it'd be cool to turn on the Discovery Channel and see that they're doing a special about them like say Rodan migrating to the North Pole every winter or something. And I guess it'd be cool to have someone like King Ceasar be an ally and help repel an attack by another monster or aliens invaders.

Plus you could make a quick bet placing bets on which monster would win when a fight breaks out.

Dafuq would a Pterosaur be doing flying to the NORTH POLE for WINTER?

Although I'll admit, the idea of the Discovery Channel and NatGeo doing specials on the monsters would be kinda awesome.

Guys, please don't bring rule 34 into my topic. There's other websites where you can talk about that stuff. K thax. -_-

Despite the negatives, I'd like to live in a world with kaiju. I'd sign up to be a pilot for a superweapon like a mecha or the Super X.

After all, its more exciting to be there actually fighting the monsters than it is to just watching them.

I would probably go to collage to become a "Kaijuologist" and study the ones living on Monster Island and preform autopsies on the dead monsters while wearing a haz-mat suit. If you know me then you know I LOVE the Character Analysis we have here on TK. I NEED to know what makes these monsters tick.

So guys what jobs would you take in a world of monsters?

Cleaning up charred bodies, the rubble of beloved monuments, and radioactive chunks of flesh and blood.

So, the lowly laborer would have a far more exciting life at least.

I doubt we'd get a choice. With the Army needing new cannon fodder every week, we'd all wind up being drafted, then promptly blown up/stomped/eaten.

On the off-chance that could be avoided, though, being a kaijuologist would be interesting.

^ Or just be an engineer, I imagine they don't wanna send the guys who build their super weapons out to die.

Is it wrong that the kind of Engineers I know could actually put up a fight against some of the kaiju?

In a kaiju world, the prisons would be less crowded. Send life sentence prisoners out to fight the monsters with the soldiers.

We'd have stronger materials and alloys for dealing with the monsters. These materials could also be used on automobiles to make them safer in a crash.

We'd have giant robots.

Imagine what we could build if we ever got our hands on some Space Titanium Alloy or any of the alien tech or Furtiruan tech. It'd be cool to take a monster that was killed and turn it into a cyborg weapon to fight off attacking monsters or invaders or the Red Bamboo army. We could also make negations with Mothra to protect humanity if we leave her island and worshipers alone.

I'd be a pilot for whatever anti-kaiju organization, that or a kaijuologist.

In G3 it's debated that the Gyaos exist to cut down human population, which would mean less polution and stuff. So I think they could have a purpose just in that creepy 'greater good' type way.
