During the final fight? If so then I agree. Especially considering the title of the achievement is Murder Your Maker?. Why is there a question mark? It doesn't make any sense. Methinks that we only killed a copy and Mercer is still out there.

During the entire course of P2! One of the keys were his powers, or lack thereof.

[SPOILERS!]

By the time Mercer and Heller confronted each other for the final fight, Heller had presented himself as much a danger as the Supreme Hunter from the first game, and what does Mercer do? Leave his body completely exposed. What happened to his armor that none of us were actually dumb enough to take on the Supreme Hunter without? And then there was the moveset switcharound, groundspikes packaged with Hammerfists as opposed to his Claws as it was in the first game. And of course, Mercer has the Tendril power, though never actually used it in the fight. Mercer didn't have the Tendril power in the original game, the only time he really had tendrils was with one of his devastators. Instead of having Tendrils as a regular power, Mercer had Musclemass, what happened to that?

Then there's the infected mutants, namely the Hydras. When Greene was offed in the first game, these guys completely vanished afterwards, which meant to me these were Redlight exclusives. Now how the hell did they come back with Blacklight? This was a big tip-off for me.

And then there's Mercer's actions. At the beginning, Mercer tells Heller something along the lines of 'same virus two years in a row'. Mercer would know this isn't true, as the first game was Redlight. How could it be the same virus two years in a row, if this time it's supposed to be Blacklight? And why would Mercer return to Penn Station just to release the virus there again, and give the camera one hell of a headshot? And then there's the cutscene right before the final fight, where Mercer absorbs his loyal Evolved in order to increase his strength and chance of survival? That doesn't really ring of Mercer at all.

And of course, there's the achievement. That's what started this train of thinking.

So let's step back and think for a moment, who would have a motive to villainise Alex Mercer? Who had a reason to actually go out and cause another outbreak? Who had the Tendril power and used it on enough of a basis to call it a regular power? Who absorbs others just to increase both their strength and survivability? Who had traits of both Blacklight and Redlight? Who else besides Mercer had the ability to change the shape of their body, prior to this game? Who else besides Mercer had the ability to regenerate from nothing but a puddle of goo?

I'm actually thinking the Supreme Hunter survived his decapitation on the Raegan...

SPIOLER

But a few of his actions were something Alex would do, a blackbox revels that he was still protecting his sister from Blackwatch soldiers even when she disowned him, but then again that could have just been it's way of covering itself up and further convince people it was Alex.

SPOILER END

I guess we'll find out in P3.

And let's not forget, we still have Greene's son, Pariah. Oh and Alex was scary because he seemed to have a lot in common with Pariah who at the time was the most feared "runner" so the fake Alex theory may hold up since he should have been way tougher if how people talk about Pariah is anything to go by on. And they siad it would be "really bad" is Alex and Greene's son were to ever meet.

Is anyone finding that the Blade is weaker in P2 than it was in P1? I am finding that the only time I use the blade is fighting brawlers and only use it to cut off their arms. I'm using the claws more than the blades now.
Apparently SWTOR said that I can invite 25 people for a 7 day trial of the game. PM me if interested.

So guys the big question. Which did you like better P1 or P2? Personally I feel the first is the better of the two.

And I know I already talked about how I feel about the ending with the stupid shocked Batman pic but I need to bring it up again. Holy geezus tentacles, tentacles everywhere! :freak:

P1 for me. I love all of the moves that Mercer has like the Hammerthrow and some of the other devastators. Heller needed more moves. Personally, I think P2 should've been about Mercer chasing down Pariah instead of Heller looking for revenge. Hopefully P3 (assuming it gets made) will be about Pariah. I do like the mutated forms of Infected like the Goliath better than the ones in P1 though.

Yeah, I think P1 had a better story too. P2 had a better presentation but over all it just felt "empty".

Canadian-based Radical Entertainment is essentially shutting down, the victim of lackluster Prototype 2 sales, Activision officials said today.

"Although we made a substantial investment in the Prototype IP, it did not find a broad commercial audience," according to an Activision statement. "Radical is a very talented team of developers, however, we have explored various options for the studio, including a potential sale of the business, and have made a difficult conclusion through the consultation process that the only remaining option is a significant reduction in staff. As such, some employees will remain working for Radical Entertainment supporting other existing Activision Publishing projects, but the studio will cease development of its own games going forward."

Rob Bridgett, senior audio director of Radical since 2007, tweeted "RIP Radical Entertainment 1991-2012" earlier today.

Calls to the studio were answered by an automated voice mail service.

Radical Entertainment, a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, was formed in 1991 in Vancouver. Perhaps best known for their work on Prototype and Prototype 2, the company got their start as an indie developer working on games like 1992's Wayne's World, The Terminator and Brett Hull Hockey 95.

The company was acquired by Vivendi Universal Games in 2005, and went on to developer games like Scarface: The World is Yours and The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. The company also had a short stint developing Crash Bandicoot games. In 2008, the studio became part of Activision Blizzard, where they went on to develop 2009's Prototype and Prototype 2 last year.

*sigh* another studio shutting down. And a studio that made fun as hell games to boot.

Very sad news, Prototype 2 was probably their only saving grace they had left, if it was a great success like the first one then they probably wouldn't have been shut down. Then again, it probably wasn't on everyone's radar all that much in the first place. Don't get me wrong, the gameplay is awesome and more matured, has an interesting storyline and everything looks simply kickass. But even awesome games sadly can go under people's radar. Either it wasn't on everyone's list or people had better things to spend their money on at the time.

Still very sad news.
