It's a comedy, and horror.
Just like real life.
Go see it. Trust me you'll like it.

SPOILERS... KINDA

Actually, wasn't there a giant monster, even? Isn't that what broke through the command center's wall and gobbled up Amy Adams (presumably the "Reptilius" on the betting board)? Or was that just the giant snake? It seemed quite a bit larger than the snake, from what I recall.

I think it was an octopus tentacle, actually. It seemed like it had suckers.

I forgot that the betting board had all kinds of stuff on it, but we still didn't see it in the movie. I thinking that after the demon girl failed in Japan, they were gonna hear some kind of roar...

That was Amy Acker, actually. I remember her from two of Joss' previous shows, Dollhouse and Angel.

On one of the monitors the crew was monitoring. There was what appeared to be a giant, humanoid buffalo, dead on the ground with a heliocopter passing over it. So there were some kaiju thrown into the mix, at one of the various other sites.

^I believe that was in a Central/South American country, and think that was a minotaur, not a truly giant monster.

I've said this before and I've said this again- I don't think most kaiju fit into the horror genre.

I saw this twice in theaters. I'm dying for the Blu-ray release. Best film of the year so far!

I can't help but agree. I mean, you find Godzilla movies in the Sci-Fi section of the video store, not the horror.

I prefer them to be Sci-Fi anyway. Horror just has that...connotation to it.

It is just me, or did Sigourney Weaver basically play the same character in Paul? She does a spooky voice over, shows up at the end, then is promptly killed.

Never seen Paul, but I've heard some people say the same thing. Paul was filmed AFTER this film, though.

Im sorry but what other similarities are there in Cabin in the Woods and Evil Dead?
I love the Evil Dead series and i haven't seen this one yet, i know they take place in a cabin but not much else. Is Cabin in the Woods a rip-off to Evil Dead?

No... it's not a rip off by any stretch.

No, it's not a rip-off at all. It's actually a much better horror-comedy than Evil Dead, IMO.

I still prefer the Evil Dead cause it doesn't have that distracting movie-within-a-movie type feel.

My God... surely you mean Evil Dead 2. The first one is great as an amateur effort but dayum. Evil Dead 2 is superior in every way.

I didn't see the first one, but the second Evil Dead bored me. I mean, the hand-chopping and the Chainsaw were cool, but the rest was bullshit. Of course, I did see it on TV...

Army of Darkness though...that was bad-ass.
