Holy crap those were amazing. Some did look a bit over the top, but way to go! The artist has a lot of talent!

Here's a bust for a Godzilla redesign I did a few months ago:

http://hellbender93.deviantart.com/art/GOJIRA-291156348

While I know this definitely isn't going to fit well with everyone's tastes, I think the only part I really messed up on is the neck. Hoping to hear some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

Also, here's a Ghidorah design I found a while back that I liked:

I'm also a big fan of the Uchusen magazine redesigns.

Your Godzilla is too thin, and the head looks a bit narrow. And maybe add a few more rows of plates on his back and add some muscle.
Don't try to be something else. Don't try to be less. Great things are going to happen in your life. Great things. And with that will come great responsibility.

Alright, I'll be sure to add some muscle, though he probably won't be any thicker than the GFW Goji. As for the head, I like it narrow, but I'll make it a bit bigger in comparison to the body.

The back plates are similar to the ones on GINO, having the larger spines on the outer rows and the biggest spines being on the shoulder blades. The row depicted is the outer row, and I plan on making them bigger.

Other features include:

1. Double rows of teeth similar to the Heisei Godzilla

2. A tail like the one seen here (similar spikes as well): http://www.flickr.com/photos/44188739@N ... hotostream

3. His eyes are similar to GMK Goji's, but orange rather than white, and are covered in veins

4. Feet similar to the Stan Winston Godzilla (minus the dew claw on the ankle)

5. Vaguely Baryonyx like arms and claws (still has opposable thumbs)

6. I made Godzilla smaller, about 120 feet tall

7. His breath looks vaguely like a mushroom cloud. It's still blue, but has some smoky black highlights.

I also plan to add external ears, but they have a bony look, like the ears on Winston Godzilla.

That actually sounds pretty cool. I'd like to see it from different angles.

I got the idea from Matt Frank when we were working on an idea for the LP Godzilla film, along with the "spike beard".

I don't have any more pictures I did (all I can do is busts), but here are a few other artists did with that spike orientation:

These two were for the LP project:

This one was for an idea that placed Godzilla in the Monster Hunter universe:

With the neck, I was going for a theropod like structure, but I messed up and it ended up looking like a huge lump or tumor.

Now everyone has their own opinions, but how is the work of Bob Freakin' Eaggleton among the worst? It's hardly even a redesign!

THE GODZILLA wrote:Oh man, I FINALLY get to have this off my chest...

Anyone who thinks Godzilla shouldn't have a modern therapod stance is a moron stuck in the past. People don't want to see a fatass monster hulking itself around; they clearly want to see a powerful creature that can actually move quickly. A monster that has done this is Deviljho from the Monster Hunter series. He's MASSIVE, and gets even bigger when he gets pissed off. His muscles swell, scars show up all over his body, and he prepares to kick your ass running on maximum adrenaline. Deviljho brings horror that Godzilla can't bring. He will willingly hunt you down and destroy anything in his path. Godzilla is just like "I'MA LUMBER OVER THAR!"

How boring!

So, I decided to cure that shitty part about Godzilla by designing him using Deviljho as a base. Now, I'm sure many of you are going to cry bullshit; "But giving Godzilla a therapod build destroys his entire purpose!" Of course, those people are idiots. Godzilla was first and foremost created based off the dinosaur art from its time. ANYONE who thinks that Godzilla shouldn't adapt to the current times is too busy furiously humping Heisei Godzilla's obese legs.

So here you go, you stuck up Godzilla fans; I give you the best Godzilla redesign out there!

Image

I'm glad you brought this up even though it was a trolling attempt. I know you were joking, but I would like to put my thoughts down about what you wrote, wherever you got it from (if you came up with that, kudos to your creativity), because some people think this and are serious, not trolls.

It is thinking like this that actually butchered Godzilla's design in the first place with Zilla.

Godzilla designs, while based off of therapods, take creative liberties. Godzilla isn't meant to be applicable to science. Criticisms like that dont allow for good science-fiction. Audiences are way too critical nowadays and need to suspend their disbelief.

Redesign him, but dont completely change him like Zilla did.
