Could be in Europe somewhere... and not to be too nitpicky, but I think Anguirus should be much bigger than the buildings behind him. Without the background however, it is still a very nice cover.
There has never been a "Scientifically Accurate" Dinosaur portrayed on any Television Show, Movie, or Documentary. Only what the human imagination can conceive, and I'm ok with that.

Great, now I want a steampunk-esque Godzilla miniseries. IDW did "Transformers: Hearts of Steel", after all.

That actually would be rather neat. I'd like to see a steampunkified MechaG if that's the case. ;)

...Why is Anguirus so frickin' small? That's not perspective, that's he's smaller than not-very-large buildings.

The art is fantastic, though.

It's Edinburgh Castle in Scotland, which is rather large.

Love the art, but the sizing does seem way off. Unless that building in goddamn huge or something.

This is probably my favorite Zornow cover so far, but I have two issues with it. Obviously, the size of Anguirus compared to the background is ridiculous, and it hit me first thing. Secondly, Zornow's monsters seem to have elastic skulls. When an animal opens its mouth, it's jaws do not actually bend or bow or become convex. They, of course, remain straight. There are bones in there, not pipe cleaners!

Well, it gives the snout a bit more flexibility, though yes it's true that wouldn't be anatomically correct or whatever. Let's just assume Mechagodzilla got the change to snap everyone's lower jaws.

I'm fairly certain he's just imitating the curve in the lower jaw of Angy's later Showa suit:

Which is pretty cool in my book, by the way.

Great to see Zornow back and getting work! Great piece right there.

Except Zornow has Drawn Angy so that his upper jaw is curving UP as well.

Nevertheless, it's very good piece of artwork.

Snakes can unhinge their jaws in order to accommodate food which would be to large to swallow otherwise, and sharks are cartilaginous so that their "bones" are literally flexible. I don't think that Anguirus has either dislocatable jaws or cartilage for his skeleton. In any case, for me, the bowing of the jaws adds to an impression of cartoonishness. The scale and that nitpick(?) are my only complaints, though.
