Hell yeah! If they made more rocks they would've been my #1.

I don't see how Monsterarts warrants its own section. Its made a grand total of 3 figures. It would have been more appropriate if Marmit was split into its 3 key lines (VP, PB, and MH).

That rock you joke about completes the 62G and Raymundo Kong like no other accessory! And the pale grey color is spot on with the movie! We are talking prop quality there!

Because para babies and Vinyl Paradise are currently producing figures right? VP has been defunct for more than a decade. Besides the sentiment you're parroting is inaccurate. The Garuda was technically a full on figure, and the accessory set comes with several mini figures. So that's 5 releases. 4 figures. And another is being released next month. Hell, by August the number will double with the release of gorgeous renditions of Moguera, Little Godzilla, Rodan and Burning Godzilla.

I mean Gigabrain could've been lumped in with Marmit because its the same boat as Tamashii... though Gigabrain releases aren't as drastically different from their parent company as Tamashii releases. I just chose to put them seperately because there are a lot of Gigabrain fans around here.

Why yes the molds for both the para babies and vinyl paradise are still being reproduced by Marmit. Regardless whether they were still around, isn't the topic "Favorite Godzilla Toy Manufacturer?" and not "Favorite CURRENT NON-DEFUNCT Godzilla Toy Manufacturer?" If the first is not the case. Then why didn't you seperate Bandai Japan from Bandai USA? Bandai Japan has not done anything since 2006 in regards to the 6 inch or standard vinyl lines. Not trying to give you a hard time. I don't have a issue with you seperating the brand line of Bandai vinyl figures with the SHMonsterarts. But I can certainly see why that would upset or not make sense as it is showing favoritism to a particular "BRAND LINE" of toys from a single company. But regardless whether the company or brand line is no longer around the topic on hand is "FAVORITE GODZILLA TOY MANUFACTURER."

Gigabrain and Marmit are 2 seperate companies. Gigabrain is not a subsidiary to Marmit. So no they could not have been lumped together.

Guess I should've said "producing new molds" which is what I meant by "producing figures". "New" to me isn't an old mold released in a new color. My bad about the Gigabrain thing... I've seen it said around the net (including a vinyl expert on this site). So unfortunately I treated it like a fact.

It was a bit tough deciding who to put in and who to leave out of the poll. Omitting Bandai would've enraged certain members. Putting Bandai USA in as a choice would've meant 3/10 choices would be Bandai. Tamashii is a subsidiary of Bandai. The figures Tamashii produces are high end with loads if articulation and generally higher quality/more detailed sculpting than the normal Bandai children's figures. They are meant for collectors. If some members are offended.. well I'm actually past the point of caring.

These aren't all non defunct. I prioritized the figure lines/manufacturers that are currently producing new molds and left some defunct lines out of respect. To be honest I thought we would all just be discussing our favorite lines with some semblance of civility... not getting jealous/enraged because we wish people would have the sense to worship toys that don't appeal to them.

Bottom line- instead of nitpicking about the "misleading" title why aren't we discussing our favoirite lines? Anything I left out could fall under "other". BTW Kaiju no mura, I do appreciate the corrections. I'm just a bit taken aback by the backlash I've received due to a single choice on a poll. And the comments above that aren't directly related to your questions are not directed at you. I just thought we made peace about this stuff.

Bullmark should probably be removed then. They only introduced 1 new mold since their revival of the company. Everything has been reissues with new color way.

Marmit and Gigabrain do have a relationship. But it's not the relationship of Marmit being a parent company to Gigabrain or owning them in anyway. It's only Gigabrain contracting sculpts to be designed from Marmit sculptors for them to produce from time to time. Which is common in the Japanese kaiju vinyl world to do.

Bandai has a lot of subsidiaries. But I can certainly understand your thought process of why you decided to sperate them. Which I didn't have a problem with in the first place but knew others may.

While I've collected a number of Bandai vinyl figures over the years, and appreciate all the different characters that's been put out, my vote goes to Tamashii/Bandai.

I have a fondness for both accuracy and articulation when it comes to collecting these characters. The MonsterArts line fits that bill, and they only seem to be getting better.

I can't really give an opinion on most of the other selections, as I never collected from those lines except for a few Trendmasters.

^^ I get what you''re saying Kaiju no mura. However I'm leaving Bullmark out of respect. I don't particularly care for the line as a whole, but I'm trying not to be biased.

I'm still surprised by there being no votes for M1. They're not my top favorite, but their stuff is so good you'd think somebody here would vote for them.

Hey, I like a LOT of M1's output. In fact, I used to have the G2K M1 and Marmit displayed side-by-side. The approaches are shockingly different, but each one is a beautiful stylization of my favorite Millenium-era suit. The glowing Matango-in-a-pot is another toy I love. In the end though, I own more Marmit for a simple reason: I like them better, in general.

Same here. Marmit simply has more variety and--overall--appeals to my sensibilities a bit more. I'm just surprised no one prefers M1 so far, especially given their incredible quality and consistency.

I don't know, M1 is one of those lines that makes high quality stuff that never gets discussed- like CCP, HazawaGumi etc. I'm surprised CCP isn't getting more love.

I think its pretty simple why Bandai's main line and SHMA are winning though. They are realistic figures. Everyone likes realistic figures. Some of people also like stylized figures along with them, but it varies time to time who prefers what, as regardless of the line- Gigabrain, X-plus, Marmit and SHMA- its all uniformly really high quality stuff. But then there is actually a pretty large percentage who can't stand stylized figures, regadless of their quality. Add to that that Bandai Japan and SHMA are the most accesible and its easy to find sellers who don't sell them at 300 a pop....

What's funny is that I tend to see M1 priced a bit more reasonably than others over here, so you'd think more people would have a chance to get into their stuff.

They are produced in pretty limited number though- I think even moreso than Marmit or Gigabrain.

Hm, I honestly don't know if that's the case. It always seems to me that I have an easier time finding them when I decide I want something, as well. Certainly depends on the figure, though.

I'm going to have to go with Bandai since the High Grade gashapon line has been my target and favorite. The amount of detail for the size, the small size in general, and the accompanying Gamera series made me pick them to collect way back when I hadn't decided what line to go after yet (had it narrowed down to: HG's, Bandai 6 inch series, or Trendmasters).
Godzilla & Gamera High Grade (gashapon) collector.
Looking for: spare High Grade insert papers (various sets)
