Xbox Live has cut support, but the PlayStation 2 version can still be played online, and I'm personally working on setting it up for myself 8D

This is my personal favorite of the Godzilla video games. They took everything good about GDAMM and expanded upon it. I enjoy the combat a lot more in STE than DAMM, and it has more monsters and cities to select from. And even though I don't do online, I still have fun with the game. Even my non-Godzilla friends enjoy themselves when they played STE.

My friend I like to think grew to enjoy it, even though he always claimed to hate the game - but when he was over, we played it a lot once I sucked him into it. By coincidence too, a lot of his favorite monsters were ones I sucked at - Destoroyah, Jet Jaguar, M. O. G. U. E. R. A.

I think Megagurius is the only person neither of us mastered. I actually have a big tendency to forget her when listing monsters.

But STE was my big entrance into Godzilla, and from '05 til '07, and still sometimes since, is how I get my Godzilla fix.

I never got to play Save the Earth online, but I did enjoy the game. The opening cinematic was really cool. It's still pretty amazing.

^^ That is what happened to my friend too. His top players were both Ghidorahs and Kiryu.

I never play it online, but did think the game was pretty good. I still like DAMM better due the character models where better, and I was not crazy about the whole idea of unlocking things in the store. It took me a while to get used to the controls since I was used to the controls for DAMM on the Gamecube.

Overall it was a pretty good game, I give it a 6.5/5.

^ Movie? O.o.

I do dislike the store, but what REALLY bothered me was the 'Packs' element - IMO it was pointless because you basically paid double for the first monster, then bought the other 3 individually. Location buying sucked too because of buying the mini locations separate.

The Xbox version became unplayable on April 15th, 2010. In order to save bandwidth (or whatever the reason), Microsoft changed Xbox live so you can play only Xbox 360 games online.

Cheetokamper and I have been playing PS2 online for the past week, and we're looking for other players.

matrix, let's set up a date and time, and we can work something out.

Just so people know, sometimes, him and I were simply unable to join each others game. You could *see* the lobby, but for whatever reason, he wasn't able to join my lobby a lot of the time. We would sometimes have the other person host, and about 90% of the time that worked. It's possible this won't be a problem for other people, but I think it's clear that the PS2 online set up is particularly spotty, and doesn't make a lot of sense.

Microsoft had dedicated server addresses, so anyone looking online would find every other person. Sony doesn't provide servers (because online play is free!) so you're at the whim of the internet gods as to whether or not you'll actually find someone else. 90% sounds pretty good - you must live near one another.

I'm in Maryland, and he's in Chicago. We actually play games like Left 4 Dead on the 360 all the time, and always have a great connection. Hell, even some of my friends in Maryland don't have connections as good as he does. It's really odd, but hey, I'm not complaining. :)

Cheeto and I used to play G:STE on Xbox all the time, and we were both pretty PO'ed when Microsoft pulled the plug on it..Not only did we actually have "Versus" mode available (unlike the PS2 version), but we never, ever had problems playing each other. Connection was always spot on, and we only ever had issue when other players joined up *cough* KG Kaiju and his horrible internet *cough*.

Yesss more people playing this would be fantastic! One thing that kinda baffles me is the fact that the ps2 it's self or the ps2's online can't handle 4 monsters on the screen at once with out major lag. I'm almost certain this has nothing to do with Goji or my connections as we've done one on one Free for alls with very limited lag (usualy none what so ever). It's not really a huge issue to me though I'm just glad I can still play this online. :huge:
He musta thought it was a gun!

Anyways, lets think of game times, for me to play it would have to be next week, ill try to be on monday or tuesday? 4:00 pm central time, unless nobody agrees to do this. (for online battling) If the time doesnt work I can go later, like from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm central time.
