I don't know what you're talking about. As far as I'm concerned, Save The Earth is the best Godzilla video game.

Destroy all Monsters Melee takes it for me. i barely aknowlege the others.

My point is when did it get overall popularity back among the majority of fans. My experiences here in 2005 through at least the winter of 2007-08, I remember it still being seen as inferior to DAMM.

Well there's your problem. That was well over four years ago. Times change, and so do opinions.

Frankly, I never understood this obsession people have with DAM:M. What exactly about is is "better" except for the fast that it was faster, had a more streamlined adventure mode, and that it had replays?

Seriously. What, about it is better?

It has a smaller roster, a less refined combo system, no online play, and overall, less content. Why would you ever play it over STE?

Maybe because it is nostalgic. I don't know about you, but I grew up playing G:DAMM, and to me, I have always liked it.

I like the Unleased and STE, but I like DAMM best. Oh and also, people might like it better because that might be their opinions.

Oh and also, people might like it better because that might be their opinions.

...This is a very confusing sentence.

It might(?) be better because it might (?) be someone's opinion? What else could be it? Their Jedi mind powers influencing other people?

I have no nostalgia for this game, I was already 17 by the time it was released. I enjoyed greatly at the time (I probably played it for a good 6 hours that first day), but when STE dropped, I definitely noticed the improvements in the combat system.

I like the Unleased and STE, but I like DAMM best. Oh and also, people might like it better because that might be their opinions.

Because some people actually like those games. In fact, I'm probably one of the few people that likes GU. Whatever comes out of the kick-starter, I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed. Now, If you want to talk about a REAL bad Godzilla game, look no further than GU for the Nintendo DS. *Shudder*

I got Godzilla Save the Earth & NASCAR Thunder 2004 with my PS2 back in 2003 for Christmas, I loved G:StE and played it for years until G:U, I played that once and hated the skreeonk out of it, it killed my interest in kaiju up until 2010 when I joined this forum. Thats how bad G:U for PS2 is

Then why not just say something like, "Also, if other people like STE over DAMM, that's their opinion."? So much easier to understand.

No, I know what he meant by that. Just sayin' that have two "might"'s in the same sentence is just weird. That sentence of his could have been worded better.

You made me feel bit old for feeling nostalgic from 2002 when I was already in Middle School when that game came out. I did like DAM a lot because it was the first Godzilla console game that I played but the gameplay was bit chunky at some points but I love the content that you can unlock with lots of concept art to unlock and I was unlocking things then buying them from the shop. I did enjoy Save the Earth since I got it for Christmas in 2004 along with Kingdom Hearts, Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, and Super Mario 64 on the DS.

I think STE was good but I wish it was on the Gamecube since the controls take a while to get used too and the game play didn't seem to be that much different from DAM.

Well technically Save the Earth is the better game character wise, but some prefer DAMM. Why? Who knows really. It's like how people prefer Super Mario 64 to Sunshine, or how people prefer SSBM to SSBB. In the end, it's just about the preference of the person.

I grew up with DAMM, but I like Save the Earth more.

Wow, I didn't know people really disliked STE. I thought it was fun, better than Unleashed. I haven't really played much of DAMM, so I don't really have an opinion on that.

Oh yeah, my whine. That matrix guy is pretty annoying. He just keeps making stupid topics related to Simon's game in the game thread and we have enough topics on that as it is.

Seriously, was it really necessary to call me out on a post, where I was only being HALF serious? :eh:

It's basically STE but lacking a bunch of cities, kaiju and moves.

The critics didn't seem to like it that much since both Gamespot and IGN give it a lower rating then DAM (IGN give DAM a 8.8/10). DAM to me was like first Budokai game was, it was bit broken but still tons of fun to play when it was brand new. I doubt DAM holds up after nearly a decade later.
