While the critics love the movie, there has been a lot of the negativity on twitter and facebook. Seems to be from people who went in expecting a serious horror film. CinemaScore polls reported that the average grade moviegoers gave the film was C and D+ from female moviegoers. The movie does have a budget of 30 million, I doubt it's going to flop.

That's because the "average moviegoer" is too stupid to realize that what they were expecting was as stupid as they are, and they couldn't accept something that wasn't what they expected or were used to. They also did not understand, or did not appreciate that another huge part of the movie is making fun of the stupid masses. The whole movie is like a cinematic inside joke, but on a grand scale.

I just saw it, I enjoyed it.... It REALLY picked up towards the end which is what made the movie for me an probably most people that saw it.

Some great skreeonk horror icon's were in it, an LOL at Merman comment... You seriously gotta watch it to understand why it's funny.

I can understand people wanting to talk about it, i do to but ill respect people who haven't seen it yet.. It's worth the watch, def continue watching till the end it's the best part that's all i'll say for now.

The CG was pretty decent to me, it's not great but I seen much worst. Most of the effects were practical, so it's not like you can tell that if it was CG or not.

That's a little harsh. It's odd that other people don't like it, but insulting their intelligence seems a bit too extreme.

No. No it isn't. The average American movie goer is a moron. Box office numbers support this.

Except films with good reviews typically make more money than those that don't. If you look at some of the highest grossing movies each year, most of them hot there because of good word of mouth and reviews. The Transformers films did well because of the well liked first film.

Anyways, we've had this discussion before and I care not to get into it again.

You know Svistka, I generally think you're a good debater and all. But this "[insert film here] is succesful because moviegoers are idiots" is both disrespectful and exhibits a certain superiority complex.

Let's see, we have Transformers, Twilight, Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in Wonderland, and I can go on. In fact, seven of the ten highest grossing films are actually pretty damn horrible.

Disrespectful to the retarded masses that give Avatar over 3 billion dollars worldwide but ignored Fantastic Mr. Fox? Yeah, no. Average movie goers can go skreeonk themselves. Most of them are idiots who expect nothing from their film other than FX. They see movies because they think they should see them. They don;t actually consider the quality of the films they see. The average person is stupid. I accept this. You can say I have a superiority complex, but that's only because I hate the majority of humanity. We are disgusting beings who like disgusting things. I accept this, therefore I am more enlightened than they are, as they continue shoving popcorn in their faces while watching explosions.

So if your view and the majority's view is different your going to say that the majority is the one with a problem?

Yes. In this case. The question you are proposing here is entirely circumstantial. For instance, if for some reason, the entirety of society stopped performing basic hygiene rituals, would the person keeping themselves clean be the one with the problem? Everyone thought the universe revolved around the Earth until Galileo had a different view than the majority, therefore revolutionizing the way we look at the universe. Your logic here is flawed.

No their a major difference, your using facts to back you up, I'm using opinion based topics with what I'm saying, and I don't have a problem with you stating your views on movies the problem is you basically said those who don't agree with my movie views are stupid.

What certain people don't seem able to understand is that a lot of moviegoers are there to relax. Not everyone wants something cerebral. However, there is the rare film that appeals to both crowds. Like this one. Gem.

I just made a marvelous parallel in another thread involving the homosexuality debate. It's again, all opinion based, however clearly one side is more idiotic than the other. for a more acceptable parallel, Evolution is still a THEORY, not a fact, so most ideas around it are strictly opinion based. Darwin was damned for his opinions way back when, but now its generally accepted to be the right idea.

My God. This film had nothing to do with Evolution, and 0 to do with the homosexuality debate. You seem to not understand why the majority see films. That's your failure. You might go to be mentally challenged but a lot of people just want an escape from the bullshit of everyday life.
