This movie comes out this weekend and it's getting some decent reviews. Anyone plan to see it?

I'm going tomorrow with a group of friends. I'm not the biggest Family Guy fan but it seems funny enough and Ebert seemed to like it so it must be somewhat good.

I would like to see it but it's not one I have to see in the theater. I enjoy Family Guy as well and I find the idea of the film funny. I like smart humor, but also like the occasional dumb humor as well.
I was mentioned in the SciFi Japan article about the appearence of extras on the Godzilla vs. Megalon DVD.

Not a Family Guy fan at all(besides the first three seasons) but, actually enjoyed this film. It was pretty funny.

The movie was sold tonight at the theater that I work for. I was surprise that we had a huge line for this movie.

My friends and I were lucky to get tickets to the movie before it sold out, I was surprised the theater was full. Good movie, not as stupid as I thought it was going to be. If you're a fan of Family Guy you'll love it, if you're not you'll still enjoy it because it's not all "Family Guy Humor".

Not really sure if I'm gonna see it in theaters (I'm cheap) but if it's on netflix instant stream later, I'll watch. I enjoy a cheap laugh. And honestly, I don't think sex jokes make it Family Guy-style. Other things make sex jokes, they aren't Family Guy-ish.

I went to see it today and it sold out while I was in line. Despite hearing not a single good word about it until it came out, it's friggin' selling out.

I've seen it yesterday afternoon (full theater), and everyone absolutely loved it, hell even I loved it lol. There are Family Guy pokes and hints within the film like Ted saying that he did not sound like Peter Griffin (Lol when he clearly does for obvious reasons), and Mr. Washee (wink) etc. There are other samples, but I'll leave those as hidden gems for anyone who hasn't seen it.

The film as stated before, isn't completely family guy, its different enough to be its own thing while still being funny. Film critics will tear at this movie as being something shallow with no plot, but there is one. John is in between a inner conflict within his life as he must choose to either stick with his long childhood friend Ted and remain a man child. Or stick with his girlfriend and finally become the man that he needs to become. John is struggling to keep them both, but as things progress to new levels, things end up badly for him. There are subplots within the film but that just adds on drama and suspense which helps the film surprisingly in its own way.

I was surprised to see someone walk in and bring his own "friend" which was a Gargoyles action figure. The guy appeared to be in his mid twenties, but yeah, it was probably something that I would have done lol. Bring a large trendmasters Godzilla figure from my childhood and watch Ted along with it lmao. Sure, I'll get stares but eventually as you mature and develop your own stable sense of self esteem. Eventually you don't give a sh!t about what others think lol.

Overall, I will be buying Ted on blu-ray when it comes out, love that film completely. Its not for everyone of course, but even those who aren't into Family Guy or American Dad still enjoyed Ted. (From what I've been reading around the net).

See, Ted definitely sounds like a MacFarlane character and all, but the thing is, I don't see how he sounds like Peter, more so than Stewie or Brian. I don't hear a distinctive Peter in his voice, but I can hear the Seth easily.

So people who claimed this would be just like Family Guy, how are those words tasting right now?

But yeah, folks surprised me yesterday and took me to see it and while I didn't think it was the best comedy ever I still found it to be funny and it's not really all that family guy like. Sure there's some references to pop culture here and there but not on the scale as Family Guy and guess what? NO CUT AWAY GAGS! There's like no fart joked, like I said the pop culture references are quite low actually, and it's a different tone of comedy.

I liked it, and fans of Flash Gordon... Let's just say you're in for a treat.

Now what I didn't like was the unnecessary jab at Brandon Routh and Superman Returns, And I wished Laura Vandervoort had a bigger role.

A 3.5 out of 5.

Okay and is there a specific part you're trying to respond to like the eating their own words bit or are you agree on something or what?

I agree that it really wasn't like Family Guy other than the crude humor.

I was surprised I liked this because the trailer showed all the worst jokes.

I found this movie to be pretty damn funny, and I haven't been a fan of Family Guy in a loooong time.

This is all I could think about. Anyway, I plan on watching this movie. Looks pretty funny.
