what if the movie doesnt come out

Eh, while thats true it would be nice to see Godzilla brought to life for the generations. With the modern effects we have know, it would be nice to see Godzilla with CGI. Granted i dont want it done all in CGi, or nor do i want to see it all in suit either. A combination of both would be nice.

Personally I feel that throughout the Millennium series, Toho has been using Godzilla as a cash cow.
Ever since Tomoyuki Tanaka passed and Shogo Tomiyama took the Executive Producer position, it has been like that.

While my expectations remain low at the moment, I still have hope that Legendary will pull off a good quality Godzilla film for both the fans and general audiences alike.

It will get made since they won't waste something that paid a lot of money for, I just hope they don't rush it. I think it will be better then GINO and the 00's era Godzilla movies (expect for GMK) seeing it should not be hard to skreeonk up worst. The only reboot that did worst was Punisher: War Zone and Legend of Chun Li (If you want to call it a reboot), but those two movies where doom from the start.

Edwards stated that he is trying to get everything ready the studio is taking longer than planned on this movie why i have no idea

Look at some of the big movies that have gone through delays, The Hobbit and Deadpool to name a few

The script should be about done so hopefully we get something soon. I'm sure LP is more focused on promoting The Dark Knight Rises right now due to it being their big franchise

A studio is not going to waste all the time and money to get the rights and then not make the film.

Im hoping we get something at this years Comic Con and if LP has nothing planned then it is our job as fans to go to their booth and ask them whats up with the film and find out all we can.

So heres what us fans who can go to Comic Con need to do. If we dont hear anything by July then anyone that goes to Comic con needs to go to Legendary Pictures and just grill them with questions concerning the film that way it should put to rest any concerns for this film for now

Yeah, and the Hobbit is more or less a sure thing too.
I mean come one, might as well cash that check in advance, so it isn't like it's a question of will it sell. It's just part of the process to get delayed here and there, and we're impatient.

I seriously doubt Legendary would spend the money on a legendary(get it!) character, and then let the project wither. Granted Toho was probably very reasonable dealing with Legendary regarding the price, probably more reasonable than if they had been negeotiating with a smaller company, we have every reason to believe they are on course for the production of Godzilla.

In the meantime however, they have quite a few other projects to take care of first, like DKR, Man of Steel, 7th Son, Jack the Giant Killer, Pacific Rim, The Hangover 3, and a sequel to 300. These are all serious projects that Legendary has to take care of before we can worry about progress reports for Godzilla. Legendary has it's plate full for the next few years, the big guy is on the way.

I say we might be in trouble if we have no serious progress news by mid-2013.

Rest assured, when the first trailer for Godzilla is released, it'll be epic beyond belief.

Its not a matter of annoying them its simply just asking whats the delay and when can we start expecting news and info thats all

I wouldn't even bother with that. Lets keep it positive. Take a few minutes out of your day, and write a letter to LP, explaining how much you like or love Godzilla, and that you are looking forward to the new film. I would also include things you would like to see in this film, and things LP should stay away from.

Don't email your letter, get a stamp and mail it. There's a big difference between receiving 1000 letters than there is 1000 emails. Create a buzz, and let LP know that the fanbase is excited about this.

Now this is just a GUESS but after doing some thinking I came up with a possible theory

They are planning on releasing this movie in 2014 to tie in with Godzilla's 60th anniversary and that they have big plans on promoting it and events with the film and such

It's only April, I'm pretty sure they could have the movie by November 2014. Harry Potter is done and the final Twilight movie comes out this November, they could have it by then since there is nothing major coming out in November 2014 so far.

I'm just getting annoyed at the lack of news at this point, i know most people have been by this point but come on. November was the last time we had any information on this film. You mean to tell me there is zero updates on the script? Is Gareth Edward's even still the director? Is there a projected release date? How about some concept art for Godzilla? Or why not say if the other monster is a Toho creation or a new one?

Hell The ''Carrie'' Reboot was just announced not long ago, an it's already got a release date an casting going. An i'm sure Godzilla is a lot more anticipated then another Carrie Reboot. I just don't get how Godzilla doesn't seem like a priority at Legendary... even if it maybe a piece of news every 6 month's is a load of B.S.

Impatient? We haven't gotten anything solid since the Brian Rogers interview back in 2010 which by now doesn't hold up to anything. All Edwards has given us so far were lackluster interviews which he tries to convince us that he is learning all he can on the material. We have nothing after 3 years since this project was announced. Reminding everyone here that this movie was originally scheduled to release this year and we haven't heard a peep from Legendary so far. What I'm tired of is all the useless fan speculation on this forum. This is a more serious issue than "what Godzillas roar should sound like".

Xxcomablack is right to bring up the issue, and for those of you who are quick to jump on anyone who questions the status quo of LP, at this point you really can't blame no one for that.

The one thing I notice is on wikipedia on Legendarys page it shows the films they have up coming and in developement.
They have 7 films for 2013 but nothing for 2014. After TDKR they will be done with films for 2012. From my knowledge studios will usually put at max 3 big films out in the same year if they believe them to be big blockbusters. However they only had 2 films released period this year so I dont understand that.
My guess is that Godzilla will be 2014 BUT if thats true then they need to get it in gear. I dont know what all the secrecy is because one would assume they would want to really hype this film. Let's just hope we get something soon. I did see someone post on FB that the script was turned in and is awaiting approval but i will take that with a grain of salt.
