Um...how does Destoroyah being strong suddenly make Godzilla vs. Destoroyah a good movie? Those are two very different things.

Goji, growing up, this was one of the films I've seen the most. When I was a kid, I always found that scene pretty horrific. Funny thing is that was way before I started watching the Alien films, so I didn't know it was a ripoff until not too long ago. I think the main reason why I find it to be more on the scary side is the fact that it's more 'down to earth.' Rarely do we see human sized monsters in these films, I always did find the car scene pretty creepy, but that's just me.
Making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

Same here, when first saw the original film as a kid, I was starting to get scared myself.

I was also scared by that sequence the first time I saw it, but I don't think "horrific" is a good word for it.
It doesn't bother me at all now, of course.

Well, I was already 12 years old by the time I saw DESTOROYAH in '96, and had already seen all sorts of horror icons on video up to that point in my life..it was going to take a lot more than some Hollywood inspired sequence in a Godzilla film to give me the willies.

You know what's creepy/horrific? Maki first boarding the Yahata Maru in RETURN OF GODZILLA. Not even HEDORAH reached that level of "creepiness".

I found only one thing creepy in Gvs. Destroyer: when they are showing stock footage from G54, one shot of Godzilla roaring underwater has placed over it Dessy's roar.

I've always wondered about that scene. Is it an attempt at foreshadowing?

Probably, and I'll have to admit that was kinda creepy.

Not as creepy as the boat scene from Return of Godzilla.

Gamera: Advent of Legion!

But really, GvsMG2. Not a great movie, hardly a good one, but it is alot of fun.

Godzilla Vs. King Ghidorah gets my vote. I don't think it's a truly excellent movie, but monster battles and the score keep me coming back. I don't think the 90's was a very good decade for kaiju films, save for the Gamera trilogy.
