Toho Connected to Death Kappa?

There is a kaiju spoof movie called Death Kappa, and when I watched it I noticed that in the beginning of the film, you can hear a few Toho kaiju roars.

And there were Maser Cannons in the movie.

So does anyone know if Toho had ANYTHING at all to do with the film?

No.

Masers are very common weapons in pre-laser scifi. Even when lasers were invented, masers were still used for some years after.

It's called an homage or reference.

You might as well make a case that the skreeonk Simpsons takes place in continuity for Godzilla if a few roars are recycled.

Not really. They've outsourced them for decades.

Like Goji said, Toho has licensed their sound library to other companies so you can hear their monster roars and sound effects in movies and anime they didn't produce.

The director of DEATH KAPPA is Tomoo Haraguchi, a well known FX filmmaker who literally grew up at Toho and has worked on several daikaiju productions. Since DEATH KAPPA was supposed to be a tribute/parody of the old school kaiju movies Haraguchi included some references to the old Toho films.
