How can you hate SHM? I can understand the price point making some unhappy, but how can you NOT like the toys themselves, if you're a kaiju fan???

Maybe they're just not his thing? Maybe he's not into overpriced articulated figures?

Jeez guys, no need to jump all over his case. At least have the courtesy to link to a post where he outright says he HATES them, or at least one where he explains why he doesnt care for the line.

I apologize for my first post - of course he's entitled to his opinion, but it's annoying when you're trying to discuss something you enjoy and someone comes in and ruins the fun by snarkily denigrating it. I suppose that's just the Internet.

That said, I won't apologize for saying he "hates" it. In colloquial speech that just means he strongly dislikes it, which he clearly does based on his posts on CT. I'm not saying he's a hateful person by nature.

It's not just "not his thing" though. He doesn't have some sort of live-and-let-live philosophy. He's repeatedly made snarky negative comments about it and argued with those who do like them.

Anyway, it's annoyed me and rather than risking a flame war over there I made a facetious comment here. Again, I apologize - my annoyance got the best of me.

Hey everybody! If you want a particular monster included in the Monsterarts line hop on over to this thread and vote it up! And yes, Bluefin is listening.

Well to be honest, this line has been incredibly overhyped. I agree with him on the idea that these figures, while cool, arent the end all, be all Godzilla toys, and people have really blown it out of proportion. That said, he frequents ClubTokyo, where a certain user has seemingly made it his life's goal to promote and hype the shit out of these things, so he's probably a bit more sick of hearing about them by now than anyone here could ever be, lol.

He hates S.H.MonsterArts and is eagerly hoping for it to end. Or he's just trolling trying to provoke the SHM fans over there, I don't know.

Anyway, I wish BBTS would get the Garuda effects pack in, and Sideshow would get Space Godzilla in. I learned my lesson and ordered everything from AmiAmi moving forward :D

I feel your pain man. I preordered Spacegodzilla on Friday and I've been wondering when they would get the figure in? This happened to me once before when I preordered an Ultra-Act Belial from them in July, but I didn't even get the figure until late September. I wish we could get a status from the site on preorders.

@Poe- I hear ya man. There are people around here who used to try and make others feel stupid just for getting excited about the line. I've learned to ignore that sort of attitude. If it's not your thing, it's not your thing. I can dig it. What I can't get around is when people mock others (even in a backhanded way) regarding the choices they make as a collector. Thankfully a lot of that shit has died down. The fact of the matter is that the SHM figures are doing well... And getting BETTER with each release. And that just pisses some people off. I can kind of understand... When was the last time Bandai released this many Godzilla figures in such a short span of time?

Honestly G2K, there are few that coukd convince me that the SHM Spacegodzilla is "overhyped". It is quite simply the finest action figure I own. No amount of bitterness can undo that.

There's a difference between "overhyped" and "worthy of praise."

Being overhyped is the issue for him, not if the product is a good one.

When did he say that? Show me a post where he said that?

This is my issue here. It's not the line itself. It's the level of obsession that this product is getting. To the point where someone with a dissenting opinion either has words put in his mouth and/or is labeled a hater.

I guess it could be worse. Like G2K said, this thread could be more like the one at Club Tokyo, featuring that one member who is so unbelievably obsessed with the MonsterArts that he post-spams the thread about them over-analyzing everything about the toy, from what might be unveiled in future toy shows to when a figure might specifically come out. He double posts if he feels he needs to and constantly comes across as if he's being paid by Bandai to promote them. The catch is, despite his obsession, he doesn't own any of them, hasn't pre-ordered any of them and doesn't plan on buying any in the near future. The hell...?

I've seen a lot of pictures of this new Space Godzilla. It's cool, but not cool enough to convince me that I need to buy one immediately.

Actually, he does own the Mechagodzilla.

But then. that's only because he won some shitty toy photo contest on Facebook and got it for free.

So if anything he's a freeloader. 8D

I don't know how being "obsessed" with this line is so unhealthy. Should people be obsessed with the other line that Bandai is putting out? You know, the one that doesn't exist?

Even if Bandai does abandon this line (like they abandoned the vinyl line back in 2007) we had a good run. Hell, that Ghidorah alone makes the whole thing worth it.

They're putting out plenty of lines. Ultra Act, Figuarts, D-Arts, Soul of Chokogin, Bandai Creations, just to name a few.

Double posting? More like triple/quadruple posting in many cases (I wish CT would adopt TK's "no double posting" rule specifically for individuals like this ). Remember that one post he made where he literally wrote 10 paragraphs on why he thinks this line would be available at Toys R Us? I mean Jesus H Christ, 10 paragraphs? Seriously? He's also clearly in denial and insists he's not obsessed (sounds like someone at an AAA meeting). Most recently, he's started to whine to board mods to warn those who are sick of his BS (i.e. basically all the board members). Wonder what he will do once this line is finished?

Godzilla2000 wrote:Actually, he does own the Mechagodzilla.

Oh God, is that how he actually won that thing??! :?: :!:  Look, I don't like to insult anyone for this hobby (hell, I'm part of this community and collect myself), but in this case, those endless Ultra-Act contest photos he spammed on CT shows that he seriously needs to find something to do beyond Ultra-Act figures (i.e. alternative hobby/job/outdoors activity/etc.)...

RedZillaKing wrote:I don't know how being "obsessed" with this line is so unhealthy. Should people be obsessed with the other line that Bandai is putting out? You know, the one that doesn't exist?

Trust me, you have no idea....he goes beyond just being "obsessed". Even the most ardent, die hard SH supporters at CT are getting sick of this guy....

Hi Tim, didn't know you posted on TK! :P

Just kidding...but seriously, do I know you?

Yeah, you're right, I am so heartbroken that this line might be extended and I HATE this line....yeah, that's it  Or should I say, that's what people like you think because I dare to say some critical things about this line (you even threw in the obligatory cliched "troll" line to boots). But whatever floats your boat buddy....knock yourself out.

That's what happens when you go throwing someone's name (someone who you don't even know) around making false accusations...you deal with the consequences. You opened that can of worms...but I am sure you will whine to a board mod about what a meanie I am or that I instigated this  I haven't posted on this particular topic in forever until I saw your ridiculous remarks about me. Anyways, I've said my peace...if you want to continue this, PM me...otherwise, have fun kiddo.

Its not so much what you say about this line but what you say about the people who like it. Really, its one thing to dislike the figure, but its just silly to ridicule the people who do like it.

I'll say it publicly: I'm sorry. To you, specifically, I'm sorry.

I got petulant and let it get the best of me and posted something childish. I generally try to avoid that, and lord knows I've worked my ass off to avoid it and yet, the one other time this happened (a good twenty years ago now) I felt dumb then, too.

I do dislike what I perceive as your repeatedly negative posts about SHM, but that's my problem, not yours. I've been around the Internet for too long to have any excuse for succumbing to this sort of behavior.

Again, I apologize. I apologize for calling you a troll as well. And I certainly won't be going to any board mods. I was in the wrong here.
