I'd take CoD over WoW anyday.

WoW really is a shallow excuse for an RPG though...

This is a verbal warning for you two. Disagree if you like, but both need to cut the personal attacks, ok? Don't make me issue formal warnings. ;O

Welp I really want to play Fall out New Vegas since I loved Fall Out 3 to death. I hear the story is better in 3. Still I love the Fall Out games though I haven't played 1 and 2 since they're pretty different.

This is very incorrect. In fact, Fallout 3's story is cut and paste from 2, and doesn't make much sense, and is non-canon.

^ How was it cut and paste from 2 exactly?

Edit: Allow me to elaborate. Fallout 2's stroyline is to go out and search for the GECK and rescue your people from the Enclave (as well as destroy them). The GECK will save your small villiage and cure your people. Your quest begins with the search for the GECK. Eventually your quest leads you to the Enclave Oil Rig where you meet the President of the Enclave and the final showdown between you and the Power Armored Supermutant known as Frank Horrigan.

Fallout 3's is to go search for your father who wants to activate the Water Purifier and bring clean water to the Capital Wasteland. Apon his death, it becomes YOUR task to do this. With the help of the Brotherhood of Steel, you locate a GECK in Vault 87 (which is the source of Supermutants on the East Coast rather than the Mariposa Military Base on the West Coast).

After aquiring the GECK and escaping Raven Rock, you are informed that the Enclave has taken over the Water Purifier. The Brotherhood of Steel launches a massive counterattack with a giant US Army robot called Liberty Prime. You successfully retake the Purifier and sacrifice your life to bring fresh water to the wasteland.

However if you have the Broken Steel DLC, the story continues and you continue to wage war on the Enclave with the BoS until you destroy their last base at Adams ABF and reduce them to lost squads and small outposts, effectivly eliminating their presence in the Capital Wasteland.

Honestly aside from the part with finding the GECK and the Enclave, the stories are pretty diffrent. To be honest, Im glad they brought back the Enclave. They're a much cooler adversary than Ceaser's Legion or the NCR (Whicm im still sore about them canonly destroying the Enclave). The Enclave is basically an evil Brotherhood of Steel.

Fallout 3 > New Vegas, honestly.

NV has a much more involving story, and the factions make it even more replayable, but F3 just feels more fun because it's more about the whole "surviving in the wasteland" than just "getting to new vegas and securing hoover dam."

Did it say somewhere it wasn't canon? Is New Vegas even canon?
Also seeing Gyaos' post that's not even copy and pasting...that just sounds like a sequel continuing off from the last game.
Also New Vegas story doesn't seem super interesting. I'm not big on the whole faction thing and from I heard from people who favored New Vegas over 3 they even said the story wasn't as good.

But hey in the end it all comes down to opinions I suppose.

^ New Vegas is canon, its just not part of the Fallout trilogy. As for Fallout 3, I dunno where he got that it wasnt canon. Considering Bethesda holds the rights to the Fallout franchise and thus the universe.

I like New Vegas, but I prefer Fallout 3 in the end. Both have their pros and cons.

Nah, the MMO is a separate project. No info on Fallout 4 has been given.

The MMO has been postponed alot due to a legal dispute between Bethesda and Interplay/Black Isle/Obsidian/ whatever they go by these days. I heard you might be able to have Ghouls and Supermutants as playable races o.o

Edit: A TON of new stuff regarding the MMO

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Portal:Project_V13

Ghouls and Super Mutants ARE playable =DD

Fallout 3 came out three and half years ago. I would imagine that it will take them another few more years for Fallout 4 to happen. Fans did had to wait 10 years for Fallout 3 to happen.

Fallout 3 is a lot better than New Vegas. New Vegas however is still a pretty good game. Its a shame that there was no real leap from Fallout 3 though. It seemed more like it should have just been a DLC than its own game. Unless they were going to spend more time on it and actually improve some stuff. Also the story was pretty lame in New Vegas. I didnt feel emotionally invested at all where as I really felt I was a part of the story in number 3. Both fall at the feet of 1 and 2 though.

I really have to give my vote for New Vegas concerning the both of them. In Fallout 3 the story just seemed a bit to linear. Sure, there were certain things you could do to change the outcome. Dying (before Broken Steel came out), the FEV thing, but that is kind of limited. Your choices in New Vegas are going to cause a whole lot more outcomes, that are immediate and noticeable. The companions are all very interesting, namely for the backstory, while in Fallout 3 the only companion I ever took was Fawkes, because, well, giant green man with Gatling Laser behind you. Also, when compared with the karma thing in 3, New Vegas had a more interesting system with the reputation system, which caused, again for different outcomes. I'd also like to add in the DLCs. In 3, the DLCs are just there, and in some cases seem kind of random coughMothershipZetacough. I didn't get that feeling with New Vegas because all of the stories were interesting. Doesn't mean they couldn't be aggravating at times (here's looking at you, Dead Money), but at the end of the day each DLC had an enjoyable story that I could honestly get involved in. However I won't question the canonicity of at least some parts of Fallout 3. Like ED-E. He came from DC, and his father/creator Whitley was probably murdered by the Lone Wanderer.....

Your avatar makes me want to strangle a baby, no offense.

New Vegas is only fun with the DLC, Fallout 3 is a much better game overall. But hey I guess it comes down to personal prefrence.

I started New Vegas and it's fun, but so far I'm liking Fall Out 3 better. For one thing the intro in Fall Out 3 was a lot more interesting you get to witness your life as a baby and child and etc. In New Vegas you get shot and wake up in a town. Still New Vegas is fun.

Well, I like the fact that you just wake up because it gives your character his own history. In Fallout 3, your entire past is set in stone, you don't have room for interpretation. But in New Vegas, you only know some definite things about yourself. You came out East, you were shot in the head, and Spoiler alert: You cause the destruction in The Divide. Other than that, your past is what you want it to be. I like that because it makes me feel more connected to the character. The adventures I thought up before the game while The Courier was in NCR territory were my adventures. It's much more enjoyable, from my perspective.

Eh doesn't really make things interesting to me. A lot of create your character games give you that freedom of making up your own origin.
It's just interesting and fun you got to live your childhood in a game.

Well technically wou whernt born in The Vault, you where born in the Jefferson Memorial THEN your father takes you into Vault 101 when your mom dies at childbirth. Tho props to The Courier for getting shot in the face and still soldiering on. I had Benny crucified when I found him at Ceaser's Camp. The Lone Wanderer and The Courier are my two favoirte Fallout main protagonists.

The Vault Dweller kicks both their asses though >.>
