I'd like to see Orga turn into a giant Akira blob.

I think the concept for Orga was fantastic, a monster that can adopt foreign DNA into it's physiology, every franchise needs(has) a character like that. I think there was so much more that could have been done with it.

To get a little deeper, I think the strange nature of the monster and it's need to consume more genetic information, was most likely the result of interacting with specifically Godzilla's DNA. DNA so unique and mutated, I think it'd be a great plot point to play on the mystery of Godzilla's genetic make-up as being responsible for the way in which Orge reacted, and transformed.

Of course we have no comparison to make that judgement, the Millennian never "sampled" any other life-form, but I think the singlurly unique nature of Godzilla's DNA could have served as a fantastic foil for Orga's mission.

I liked Orga. It was a neat original monster with an ability not seen in the Godzilla series prior to then. However the problem with Orga was its execution in G2K.
I would've preferred that Orga made itself present earlier in the film rather than at the end (The 'Flying Rock' UFO doesn't count). With such little screen time for such an important aspect of the film, it's no wonder why many people look down upon Orga. Plus the film could've done better if Orga was present than that UFO. At times I forgot that I was watching a Godzilla movie and instead watching an alien movie.

Orga is really just short for Organism, correct?

My opinion of Orga is split. Toho did a good job by not bringing in a monster too visually interesting or powerful for the new series' debut film. However, on the opposite end I think it's fair to say that Orga looked like a lazy design (or lack thereof) and the UFO should've been wayyy more aesthetically pleasing than the silver blob that we got. The lack of strong detail present with these two is just one example of what makes this film feel a little rushed at times.

I believe so.

Orga is just cool in that he's not trying to get the "Godzilla's most powerful opponent yet" award.

Orga was a forgettable monster, but he had potential for a sequel. With a piece of Orga, there could have been some bioengineered kaiju created by man to deal with Godzilla.

I think I would've liked Orga a lot more if he was introduced in the film earlier and thus had more screen time and maybe tweaked the design so it didn't look so much like the Rancor. I like some aspects of the character, but I think Toho did a bland job of executing him. He feels more like an afterthought than a fleshed out film opponent. I wouldn't mind him coming back, as long as Toho made him a lot more interesting than they did in Godzilla 2000.

Orga had a pretty awesome cloning ability though. I would have liked to see what he would look like if he cloned himself from other Toho kaiju, like Destroyah, Anguirus, King Ghidorah, or even better Biollante!

I think both origins for the name should be completely valid. "Organism" gives Orga an air of mystery and danger. The unknown, an "Organism" that is approaching.

Maybe it's just short for orgasm, and he's just seeking to get laid.
