They have intentions of expanding past what Kawakita has made. Considering that RZK (I believe, was it someone else initially?) and some else said that Gamera was on a questionnaire, and NOW we have the EVA figures to look forward to, the entire line can go anywhere whether it be Toho creations or not.

But the reality is that the majority of the people right here on this forum really only care about the Toho stuff. So you could state that Bandai is giving us more than just Heisei Toho monsters to look forward to, and you'd be correct. But in the grand scheme of things we're here discussing this line BECAUSE of the Godzilla stuff we're getting. And as far as we know Bandai has NO plans to take this past the Heisei stuff.

ZillaMaster91, Bandai hasn't released a Biollante in.. lolidk. X-Plus, which is a brand of figures aimed solely at collectors, similar to the Tamashii figures, released one a little while ago... Considering X-Plus made one, I'd say if this line is good enough, a Biollante looks likely. Judging by SpaceGodzilla's joints, Tamashii does listen to their customers.

X-Plus making a Biollante has no bearing on what Bandai does in a line like this. X-Plus has also done Ebirah, Manda and Magma. By extension, should Bandai do those too? Monsters like Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, Rodan, Space Godzilla, Mogera, Destroyah, a baby Godzilla and of course King Ghidora are sure sellers and natural for this line. They've all shown up in some form or another whenever Bandai does a new vinyl line. There's no precedent set for Biollante being a strong seller as far as Bandai toys go, and an eventual MA Biollante is going to be FAR more expensive than even Ghidora if these are all to the same scale.

Face it, Biollante isn't a given.

As much as I want a Biollante, I have to agree with Legion. I don't think it's out of the question, but it's not a sure thing, either.

This might be the stupidest argument yet. Did everyone make their ambiguous points yet?

@Jomei- I'm personally hoping Bio doesn't come out. At least not for a while. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that I'm spending hundreds on action figures already.

lol I know that feeling. Good god, do I ever know that feeling.

I do hope we get one eventually, though. My collection still lacks a good Biollante, and though I'm interested in the Marmit and M1 standard figures, I'd also be interested in a highly realistic one, and I'm positive a MonsterArts version would best the Bandai--though it's a cool figure, it shows its age.

That's fine, and I do agree with some of what you said. Again, I'm not an idiot; there isn't a FiguArts thread even though I'm sure some enjoy Kamen Rider and DBZ. I own Revoltech figures, and I take part in discussion of the Revoltech thread. I know that other figures in Revoltech's lines have been brought up (Iron Man right now, I made a big stink about Monster Hunter), and it is pretty clear that a few people are interested in other aspects of this line outside of Godzilla. I , for one, and VERY interested in the EVA figures. Never seen the anime, don't care to, but they look cool.

What I think part of this back-and-forth is about is how I initially (actually, for the second time) posted that Kawakita doesn't have total control of what gets released. Considering that I post like a moron and completely, blatantly exaggerate most of my posts, I thought the message should be clear.

I didn't intend it to be a hostile "SKREEONK YOU, YOU WERE WRONG, MORONS." It may be perceived that way, but I have no hostile intentions with you (for the most part. I wouldn't say hostile, just that I don't agree with you some times), UnCanny, or anyone else that said anything that could be interpreted in a way that would suggest Kawakita had total pull over the line.

Here's what I meant to say, in a very broken down format in response to the notion that Kawakita determines what gets released in the SHM line. Which is what I was getting at, because as I stated, saying he had pull over the entire line, which is what I saw was posted, is incorrect.

"It's pretty clear Kawakita isn't the man in charge of this line. With these EVA figures, its pretty clear we're getting more brands thrown into the mix alongside Godzilla. Considering these prototypes aren't designed by Kawakita, who knows what else we will see for Godzilla."

Right, I understand. X-plus=/= Bandai/Tamashii. The point I was trying to make as was made before, the X-Plus figures are aimed at collectors, not at children, like this line is aimed at (actually, these are aimed towards adolescents and older, as per press releases, though I cannot say what X-Plus's target audience is, as I have never seen a press release).

Tamashii does, however, have a precedent for taking customers into HUUUUGE consideration. They have polls regularly on their facebook page, and the US has already determined the decision to release the FiguArts Trunks. If there is enough of a push from fans, its pretty clear that Tamashii will listen.

I know Biollante may not be a given, but I can still keep my hopes up. Believe me, I want it, but I do NOT want to see the price tag.

RZK: Not really. Go look through the General KoM or Whine thread.

I know that this is off the topic concerning the Biollante idea, but how come many websites have been pushing back Spacegodzilla's release all the way to the end of April?

VERY BAD storm near Japan happened recently. AmiAmi had to push back operations and phone calls for a day or two.

EDIT: I didn't know there's been some kind of fight going on here about this when I posted it, so I suppose I need to point out that this doesn't have anything to do with any of that. END EDIT.

I just want to clear something up here:

Those EVA Angel figures do indeed belong to the SH Monsterarts line according to the display cards accompanying them. The red EVA unit that looks all crazy? That one belongs to the Robot Spirits (Damashii) line but it is displayed here with the Angels A: because it's from the same series as them B: they're both produced by the same company. MA, FA, RS, and Ultra-Act are all Tamashii lines and Tamashii is a branch of Bandai specializing in articulated figures. MA specializes in kaiju (and the Angels ARE kaiju), FA specializes in sentai, RS in robots, U-A in Ultraman.

Bandai>Tamashii>Monsterarts=Figuarts=Robot Spirits=Ultra-Act.

Figuarts began as a Kamen Rider line more or less but has branched out to include other sentai properties. The same with Robot Spirits; initially focused on Gundam but has expanded to other properties. Following along with the history of "specialized" lines Tamashii seems to enjoy, then I posit that MA wasn't EVER going to just focus on Godzilla. We're only 3 (released) figures into this line so obviously there's going to be some testing of the waters before they jump in all the way, but I've got a feeling this line is going to have legs for a little while.

Damn, I hate that. Hope everything is alright. Zeus knows they've had to put up with enough over there recently.

For the love of.... Its been cleared up. Settled. Ended. It is over with. We KNOW they are kaiju. We KNOW they are made by the same company. But they are not Toho Kaiju/part of the Godzilla production - Which is why we are no longer discussing it, and have all moved on just fine. Which is what happens in threads.

^WHOA WHOA...hold up!

I apologize, but I didn't read the whole 2 pages that this grew since I went to work. The first couple of posts I read were about the whats/whos of these lines and thought I'd just throw a little bit of what I know about it out there. I wasn't trying to jump into the fight or push up my nerd glasses to show you how much I know; I was just trying to help, no harm intended. Again, apologies all around, jeez...

Wow Uncanny...such fury...*wipes dampened brow*

Haha that made me laugh out loud, Jomei.

And fury my ass. That was nothing. FURY is what would have happened if the whole stupid argument would have flamed up again, which is what will happen if we keep discussing it.

So lets avoid that, instead of showing how much we know, shall we?

So at Ebay I see the Fire Rodan listed for $80 pre-order. So that's just the for-now price until it's updated?

Is this one of those figures where one needs to get it right away, or else it'll sky-rocket if you wait a month or two?

I'd wait it out. The few sellers who have Rodan up on eBay already are just trying to capitalize on the ignorance of most people scouring the auctions. The figure should cost no more than $45 when adjusted to USD. I'm sure that reputable sites like HLJ will have decently priced pre-orders up when the time comes.

HA

No, don't buy these on eBay unless they're low priced. Rodan's MSRP is $42.99.
