If money was NO object: Your DREAM figure purchase?

Postby BigBaragon » Tue Apr 03, 2012 5:57 am

I have reasonable access to pretty much any vinyl figure that I might desire, within reason, mainly due to having endless trade goods, decent connections, and a reasonably 'loose' income. I thought that this might be an amusing exercise, finding out what folks' have on their 'high-dollar' lists. Also, I'm sure that I will learn something, and maybe get a few good idea about what I might want for myself.

The only 'stipulation' is this: Only TOYS/FIGURES here, please. Can be vinyls, mechano, articulated, HG, the HUGE 2' bastards, etc. NO statues, busts, memorabilia, masks, suits, etc., please.

Personally, I already own several of my 'holy grails', (Kong, Baragon, Seesar..) but there are so many MORE that I want! (Most of my wants fall WAY under $100, though...)

Lets hear it! :g2k:

This is a no-brainer for me: I want the original Bullmark standard-size MechaGodzilla

This is easy for me since I'll list more than 1.

1. Original release Marusan Plamodel Godzilla, MISB

how many are in existence, I wonder.

2. the complete set of the Bullmark Tin toys.

3. Marui King Ghidorah

4. Marusan tan/cream stomach Gorosaurus

Great! Keep 'em coming!

Cimmerian, from what I recall of the originals, (Bullmark, Marusan..) arent they the 'baby doll'-styled ones? You know the style; the earlier figures were often not very accurate, and they had that 'chubby' vinyl dollie body - ? I had a few of 'em, had a VERY early-70s character that was in a bright AQUA-blue, I used to chew on him in the bathtub, heh. I always thought of him as GABERA as a kid, but hell, I was only 2-3 at the time, so.... They have their charm, for sure, and I love them, but as an adult I prefer the more accurate Bandais.

I don't think there's much that I want that's REALLY out of my price range (ie 100-200 dollars for a figure, which I consider expensive, but not something I can't do every now and then). Maybe if I had that much money I'd get into vintage, but right now I don't feel that drive.

If I had a lot of money, though, I'd probably buy a bunch of the higher-end Bandais right now instead of waiting for good prices, and I'd snatch up some of the overpriced stylized figures I want that sit around on eBay.
Now it's dark...

Also very sweet.

I refer here to the standard-scale release, which is more than accurate enough for me, while also maintaining the personality of a slightly stylized sculpt.

None.

If money were no object, I wouldnt be buying overpriced bits of vinyl. I think I'd look at something cooler. Like fast cars.

^ Sigh. Party pooper.

Alright, assuming I became fabulously wealthy, I concede that my first purchase would be a 1959 Impala (unless I found someone willing to part with a Cord 812). Then I'd start buying overpriced bits of vinyl. And guns. Many more guns (the other collection I cannot contain ).

After that Bullmark MG was out of the way, I might need to grab the new Zeem Giant 1964 Godzilla Model kit and the Kaiyodo 1/80th scale G'89.

you realize that by prioritizing where you'd spend your money, you've already re-imposed the notion that money IS an object, right?

I think it's more a matter of scheduling. You know, what do you want delivered first?

But yeah, Wataru deflected my line of thought for a moment.

Also, one more. I want this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALL-HAND-MADE-W ... 1e6830b635

I really like the Revoltechs, especially the Gameras. I'd get the Legion at the moment, but if they put out a Gamera '99, Iris and Hyper Gyaos I'd get those too. :)

Can I say the Bandai 50th Anniversary Memorial Box, or do I have to pick just one? ;)
