The Last War is another one that I could easily see in the Criterion line-up. Much more-so than Prophesies, which is entertaining but (imho) too over-the-top. The sober vibe of The Last War makes it all the more oppressive, because it feels like we've actually been dropped into a moment in the real lives of those characters. Life goes on, but a war that is impossible for any of our heroes to control is constantly bearing down.

Criterion did put out a box set called MONSTERS AND MADMEN, featuring obscure '50s sci-fi like THE ATOMIC SUBMARINE, FIRST MAN INTO SPACE, THE HAUNTED STRANGLER and CORRIDORS OF BLOOD. Ever heard of them? If these films had a chance, why not classic Toho sci-fi? Let's not forget that they also have THE X FROM OUTER SPACE, GOKE - BODYSNATCHER FROM HELL and PRINCESS FROM THE MOON through Janus Films.

I like to see the big boss get a criterion release.

I think he's refering to the '50s Toho movie:

If I'm not mistaken, the logo music in Godzilla vs. Gigan originated there.
Every film should have at least one animal attack.

Oh thank goodness. I actually completely forgot that film existed. Any of Toho's crime thrillers from this era would be appreciated, frankly. I think Critereon at least has BOOOTED BABE, BUSTED BOSS (1968) in their mitts.

I just hope Criterion considers getting the rest of the films classic media has, as well as King Kong vs. Godzilla.

I think an Eclipse series box-set with several of the Toho crime pictures included would be perfect, just like the Nikkatsu Noir release Criterion put out.

Universal has been pretty protective of the King Kong franchise and has a death grip on KKvG and KKE. Our best chance would be for someone else to sub-license it as Criterion did with Godzilla from Classic Media. If the rights issues could get cleared up with G85, that would probably be the first G movie they'd consider since they'd have (relative) pent up demand for something not previously available on DVD/BRD. But even though Godzilla had the highest preorder rate in history for Criterion (so we were told on here some months back now), I don't see Criterion putting out any additional G movies soon. Ultimately it'd be nice for all of the Godzilla movies to get into one company's hands so we could get some awesome box sets and uniform design/presentation. Pipe dream!

It's nice that Hulu has all 3 of these. I think they would make a nice DVD triple set (Criterion or not). I didn't know Princess from the Moon had a monster scene in it! I've had it in my que for weeks as one of those "I'll see it when I get around to it" films, but now I want to see it ASAP :)
There has never been a "Scientifically Accurate" Dinosaur portrayed on any Television Show, Movie, or Documentary. Only what the human imagination can conceive, and I'm ok with that.

^ It's extremely brief. Just a forewarning.

Releasing other early Honda films like Rodan, Mysterians, Mothra, etc sort of makes sense to me, but then again a Criterion release of any good movie makes sense to me however unlikely.
