Whats your favorite super x?

Postby GodzillavsJason » Sun Sep 05, 2010 8:04 pm

whats your favorite super x? My favorite super x is super x 3 because it was the only miltary weapon that bacially defeated Godzila. I also liked its freezing weapons. I also liked that super x 2 had a reflecting miror.
Now telling which is your favorite.

Numero Dos. The fire mirror was a great idea.

Super-X-2, Fire Mirror was great... an both fights with Godzilla were the most entertaining out of all 3 of them i think.

There is something to like about all of them, but the original is my favorite in overall design. However, I liked the arsenal of both the Super X-II and III the best. The Fire Mirror was a cool concept, and had it been a little more durable, maybe the Super X-II would have been seen again.

I'm torn between 2 and 1.

1 did manage to beat him and it would have stayed that way were it not for that missile. But SX2 had the awesome, if flawed, idea to shoot his own beam right back at him.

SX3 I never lied the design. Don't get me wrong, beating both Godzilla, in burning form no less, and Destroyah is impressive but the design just never clicked with me.

The original is my favorite in design and function, and it essentially killed Godzilla with its cadmium missiles. The nuclear fall-out is what revived the monster.

Super X 2's design was too long for my taste, and the fire-mirror is an impractical weapon that forces the machine to always expose itself to Godzilla if it wants to reflect his beam. Additionally, the fire-mirror doesn't appear to be nearly as resilient as the armor plating on the original, and I detested the switch to black.

The Super X 3 is my least favorite. It looks like a toy.

The SXIII, because it's the only one that even remotely looks like it could get off the ground.

The original looked like something that could work to me. Reflecting Godzilla's breath is a cool idea, but that's all the second ever really did. The third was cool looking and I liked the idea of laser beams that freeze stuff, but by then you're like, "Super X III? Come up with something else."

So I like the first one.

Pffft. What the hell does that matter? You're watching a Godzilla film. You're supposed to be suspending disbelief anyway. Besides, the Super X-III looked more like a toy than the first Super X, which was done in a film 9 years earlier...

Super X-II, because I liked the design, along with its theme song. :D

The first one. Its music was great, the design reminded me of the flying Hedorah and the way Godzilla defeated it was great.

Super X-II. The Fire-Mirror was neat and I love the theme music.

Super-X II. Much more creative design than the other two (Oh! Let's just fire missles/lasers at Godzilla!) and a much more awesomer theme song.

You like one fictional aircraft over another because it's the only one that looks like it can fly? These are fantasy creations that were built to battle giant monsters, and look "cool" at the same time. I'm simply making fun of your "retarded" reasoning, more than anything.

The Super X-III looks like a toy, and not a whole let else, much less capable of "flying".

It's called an aesthetic of realism. It's quite popular these days.

Yeah, and you're also watching giant monster movies. You want realism? You have plenty of other genres of film to choose from. Seriously.

Liking the Super X-III more because it's "realistic", when ironically, it's the most fake looking of the three, just comes across to me as odd, that's all. You're watching fantasy films here guys.

And again, this is a problem... why exactly? I don't see why my personal preference for aircraft that actually look like they can get off the ground is such a big deal to you. Chill out.

Goji wrote:Yeah, and you're also watching giant monster movies. You want realism? You have plenty of other genres of film to choose from. Seriously.

Why does the fact that it's in a giant monster movie have to somehow automatically throw out any sense of realism? Because the kaiju themselves couldn't exist in the real world? That's no reason to completely throw out everything.

Liking the Super X-III more because it's "realistic", when ironically, it's the most fake looking of the three, just comes across to me as odd, that's all.

In execution, perhaps. But not in design. The SXIII has wings.

You're watching fantasy films here guys.

Godzilla, and most kaiju movies for that matter, fall pretty squarely into science fiction last I checked. Soft science fiction, yes, but still science fiction.

Geezus Christ...

Godzilla movies are lumped together with all of Toho's fantasy films. It's as much fantasy as it is "science fiction".

You like the Super X-III, nobody else does. We'll just leave it at that.
