"What's great about the movies, is there is no hard continuity," said editor Bobby Curnow. "The Godzilla movies of the '60s are not necessarily part of the history of Godzilla in the '90s. So the films themselves support this type of approach. No difficult history to get bogged down in. Just jump in and enjoy the ride."

Cimmerian Dragon wrote:I do enjoy solid continuity, but there is an undeniable benefit to being free to adapt a familiar character however the storyteller sees fit. Too bad the Millennium films (for the most part) didn't really stretch the formula as far as the potential allowed. I'm glad IDW is giving us these unrelated tales from the Godzilla-multiverse, as it were. Legends really gets points for running with that. With this new title (like G&G before it) IDW continues to give us a nice chance to see different creators and approaches to the material. Yeah, KoM ended up being, *ahem*, not to my taste, but everything else in the line has appealed to me on some level or another.
