Goji wrote:Sony's funny. They could have used the "Against" title for the '93 film, and then simply kept the "X" in GxMG. The problem is even though the '93 film was released to DVD until at least '04, the VHS had already been around since '98. So they were basically already stuck with the stupid title they decided upon in the 90's.

Yeah no kidding. "Let's brighten the print for Mges. Oh shit we can see the wires, should we digitally delete them? Nah our costumers our stupid they won't notice." I mean even Sci-Fi channel wasn't that lazy, they brighten the print and deleted the wires. SCI-FI CHANNEL!

Goji wrote:How does it make sense for games? It doesn't make sense in any context. That's whole point.
It's dubbed "Mechagodzilla" in the film because the "MG II" title was simply used for marketing. The film was dubbed in Hong Kong in the early 90's, and the films international title is simply GODZILLA VS. MECHAGODZILLA. An English translation of the Japanese title.
Clearly, you didn't read any of my previous posts explaining this in detail. This isn't some "fan theory" of mine. It's a fact.

Twas terrible. OTOH, of all the contemporary films that could've had that error, at least it was Megaguirus, which was so goofy anyway that you'd almost expect it.

It makes sense cause there would have been two Mechagodzillas in Unleashed, having the II separates it. II makes sense for the normal consumer, as Legionmaster said.
I never believed it was a fan theory, I just didn't know that the international title didn't have the II.

Goji wrote:M'kay. This doesn't explain why you're so perplexed about him only being dubbed as "Mechagodzilla" in the film. This isn't a sequel to the 70's film, so why would that moniker make any sense? Logic. Use it.
You mean three? Kiryu was in the game too and thankfully they dropped the "Mechagodzilla 3" title from STE and just call him by his code name, Kiryu.
