I think Gidzilla vs. Megalon had a gay undertone, there was an absence of women in that movie. Actually, the only females were the Seatopian dancers

I wouldn't say this movie had a gay undertone because of it's lack of women.

"You said it my hard-bodied bachelor friend!"

I don't think there's a gay undertone due to lack of women tbh. This was a kid's flick intended to have two hero monsters beating the tar out of two goofy bad guys. I don't think there's any more subtext than that.

Godzilla vs. Megalon is aimed at a pre-sexual adolescent audience. What could be cooler to an 8 year old then living in a Gonzo inventors house with a robot butler and your best friend who races hotrods? It's entirely fantastical and trying to place high brow baggage on something like that is just pompous and poorly thought out.

^ Seriously.

Yeah, I don't see how it's "gay" simply based on the fact that no women are present. John Carpenter's THE THING features no women in it either. Does that mean it has "gay undertones" as well?

You could read the Thing as a stand in for AIDS. It is a microscopic germ that spreads through unknown means, infecting people and "changing" them. This fits in with the characteristics of the AIDS scare in the 80s.

So, yes. You can find homosexual undertones in The Thing.

■Some reviewers for Godzilla vs. Megalon have detected what they believe to be homosexual undertones within the film. (The lack of female characters, as well as the aperently very close retationship between the two main (male) characters, Goro and Hiroshi, are considered evidence for this theory.)

This is what I got that from, it's in the trivia

Err...I wouldn't exactly trust the Godzilla Wiki as it's prone to errors and bad edits.

The funny thing is (oh ha!) AIDS wasn't discovered until during the time the film was being made so what the virus was like and what it did or even it's existence wasn't widely known at the time.

AIDS wasn't recognized by the CDC until '81. It showed up in the Caribbean in 1969 and in Europe in the 70s.

Despite the production time, the movie was still released during the AIDS scare. It was in the public conscious and you can still read The Thing as a movie about AIDS.

I'm not saying there's not any good wikis out there, there is (hell Mortal Kombat and Metal Gear get good ones, hell even amazing ones).

Wiki Zilla just isn't one of them, in fact it easily the second worst one I have ever seen.

Not even Wikipedia. It's the fan-made "Godzilla Wiki." It's simply atrocious.

Wiki Zilla has to be one of the worst fanwikis out there. Half of it is misinformation and the rest are crappy Godzilla fan characters made by 12 year olds.

I know, right? Half of them are just Godzillas crudely recolored red in an outdated version of MS Paint.
Thank goodness the wiki I manage is confined to a comparatively smaller fandom.

I know. I remember my first time going there and seeing stuff like Gorosaurus and Minya teaming up with Greenman to fight their Greeman incarnations and all the lazy OCs.

Btw, mind if you post a link to your wiki? I'm interested in seeing it.

Here is an article I completely revamped: http://stupidmariobros.wikia.com/wiki/King_Arthur

Very cool! The article looks really good

That reminds me, I haven't watched Stupid Mario Bros. since line 7th grade or so. I think I'll get reacquainted with it over the weekend.

I understand that any of the wikis out there cannot be used as resource; this could be me, but the way we talk about it makes it sound like it's 100 percent false. I mean, there are some facts submitted...and sometimes, we don't have reliable links to the authentic sources short of wikis; but I'd rather see wikis as holding some facts as opposed to dismissing them as 100 percent false. My opinion, mind you...
