Wow I thought this thread might have recieved a Bump because the titles for Volume 24 (XXIV) had been announced but oh well... Here they are:

310- FUGITIVE ALIEN
318- STAR FORCE – FUGITIVE ALIEN II
617- THE SWORD AND THE DRAGON
624- SAMSON VS. THE VAMPIRE WOMEN

As most of us expected, the last 2 of the Sandy Frank dubs of Japanese series edited to film were included (yay!) along with another couple films. I just wish they would have kept Mighty Jack, Time of the Apes, & FA I & II all on one set, instead of breaking them up between 22 & 24. Oh well, I can always watch them online :).
There has never been a "Scientifically Accurate" Dinosaur portrayed on any Television Show, Movie, or Documentary. Only what the human imagination can conceive, and I'm ok with that.

Shout has been playing it smart and spreading their "hard to get" episodes out evenly and placing easy choices filling out the rest of the set. That way, their budget can reform as they hunt down their next target. They're doing so with the films they've acquired from CBS, with the Master Ninja duo and Code Name: Diamond Head already released, leaving Stranded in Space open for a future set. The same can be said for the Lippert films that appeared on volume XXIII. The Lippert documentary showed scenes from Rocketship X-M, making that one seem more like a lock for volume XXV, which I presume will come out around November/December (I'm presuming Stranded in Space will be apart of the same set).

The one exception being of course their Gamera set. I think they just decided to spoil the fans with that one, and/or take us by surprise so we can worship them like gods.

After reading the comments on Satellite News about Vol XIV, there are a lot of fans who worship Shout! Factory. After their help with my lost copy of "Batwoman" and them responding to my thank you on Facebook, I may become one of them.

I was worried about "Batwoman" after reading a bunch of reviews online saying how bad the episode was but I laughed my ass off through most of the episode. The Cheating short, the Crow cheating host segments, and a completely WTF of a movie made for a perfect combination.

My copy of Vol. XXIII should be coming tomarrow. I can't wait. With this set I'm now caught up on all the MST3K sets that don't cost an arm and a leg. The only sets I'm missing is Vol 3 but Shout released two out of the three that were on that set for their single releases, Vol 9, and all the single releases Rhino did that Shout hasn't re-releases. Now I can focus on the new releases.

Like a lot of people I've read have said, the chances of getting most or all of the episodes are looking good. Yes, I know the Godzilla episodes are extremely unlikely, but after Shout was able to get all the Gamara episodes and the rest of the Sandy Frank library, who knows?
I was mentioned in the SciFi Japan article about the appearence of extras on the Godzilla vs. Megalon DVD.

Toho knows. They'll never allow Shout Factory to release the two Godzilla episodes.

So far, I've only seen one episode of the show: The Giant Gila Monster. It was fairly humorous, so I'm interested in seeing more.
If I am to check out the Shout! Factory releases, should I just go through them in order, or do you have specific recommendations?

Going through them in order wouldn't really make a difference. Episodex are released based on the rights to whatever film is available.

The Godzilla episodes are always a fun place to start for an established Godzilla fan. Or the Gameras. My favorite is the very, very Japanese Prince of Space, but I'm not sure if that's still available or not.

Just marathon'd the Gamera episodes. Great stuff. I've no idea what a film "Planner" is.

Yeah, the title was the Touch of Satan, it was an episode from the ninth season.

"END! EEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNND!!"

First time I heard that, I was doubled over from laughing so hard.

Batwoman's a good episode, but I can't help but feel it gets rounded up in my scorecard to to its fantastic short and host segments. Maybe the movie just gets to me. Great eyecandy, but watching it is really, really hard.

this show is amazing. Got hooked earlier last year, i've seen most of the episodes on youtube. It's too bad that Toho didn't have a sense of humor about them using the two Godzilla movies they did (tho the sea monster riffs were sorta hit and miss), there are a few other Showa movies that are BEGGING for a good riffing.

All of the Gamera and Hercules movies are great, the Gorgo riffs are mostly high quality, and special mentions go to the killer shrews.

For anyone seeing Beast of Yucca Flats, Racket Girls, Monster a Go - Go, Castle of Fu Manchu, or Manos: the Hands of Fate, be warned that even with the riffing it's really hard to sit through those.

I have yet to sit through either Santa Claus movie and i'm sorta dreading it -_-

One of my favorite shows ever. I can't wait for my copy of XXIII to come. Up to what I've seen, The Final Sacrifice is my favorite episode. I even made a little video for it.

Don't dread the Santa Claus films, they're a lot of fun. The one with Pitch just needs to be seen to be believed.

Agreed. You HAVE to watch the Christmas episodes. Santa Claus and SCCTM are hilarious. They're funny enough to watch outside the Christmas season.

I've seen SCCTM-very funny, I've never sen the the other Santa movie though. Also I dont get all the love for Final Sacrifice there are plenty of entries to me that are much better. I dont think I LOL'd once. But I guess I'm just different.

Tom Servo signing" S-A-T-A-N, uh... I mean "N-T-A"... "C-L-A-U-S" Hooray for Santy Claus!

I'm still a little irritated that Netflix streaming removed many of their MST titles. Thank goodness I have many of them on DVD. I just recently watched Legend of Boggy Creek II, THAT was hilariously awesome.
