Wrath of Kiryu - San Andreas PC modification.

Postby Keto » Fri Mar 02, 2012 10:25 am

Hello to all Kaiju fans !

Did you ever dream about Godzilla PC game released by ATARI ? of course you did! same as me.
Iam in love with this huge lizard as far I can remember.
I bought alot of game consoles to find out how does it feel to be a huge, powerful monster, UNFORTUNATELY ATARI disappointed me no matter Its 3D or not.
My idea was born in 2004 to modify Quake 3 Arena, but I didnt had too much experience to realize that.
Now, after a years Iam finally ready to make this happen, and the target is: GTA:San Andreas.
As a fan I exactly know how godzilla game should be like, so people, lets make this happen !

Am I working alone? no, I have very experienced C++ scripter and few friends to help with tiny things, unfortunately Its still not enough because there are a tons of work and modifications. Project eats all my day and I definitely need a hand.

If you know what exactly game modification means, you are the right person to help us. You can also post your knowledge in this topic or by e-mail: Ket0.1989@gmail.com

//EDIT
After some research I think it should be moved to "Fan Art, Music, Movies & Games" , apologise.
Greetings, Keto ;)

HOLY SHIT.

This is amazing. Wish I could help but there's not much I can do - still, very much impressed, and I really hope this project gets off the ground!

While the kaiju video game I'd like to see the most is one modeled after a wrestling-style brawler, a GTA-style free-roamer is definitely my second pick! Best of luck to you on this, I'd love to see a finished product! Wish I could give you some kind of help, but I don't have any experience with game creation or modding.

Good to hear that someone believed in me, really. From tomorrow Iam gonna make kiryu model prefect. There are still some bugs in overall build and missing really important details. Today ive learned how to create HD quality texture and its gonna be a huge move. Silent (c++ scripter) working on multi-missile tracking and mouth beam. Website will be moved to another host, it will be done before global presentation. We still missing hands in team and i knew that it will be hard to find help on tohokingdom. There are still few things that should be able to do for you:

Movie create/edit - sony vegas / adobe after effects.
Or
Forum moderator.

If you wish to join us write message about yourself and your experience via e-mail or private message on tohokingdom.

Take care: ) Keto.

//EDIT
I had some messages about asking for gameplay. It will be mix of:
-TPP
-SHOOT EM UP
-ADVENTURE
-SURVIVAL

Gameplay will be like one storyline with diffrent mission styles. We will meet alot of g-force military and bosses like godzilla or super-x2. Its still far future and its not so easy to create brand new story, the continuation of kiryu saga. So hold on and support! :)

So, anyway you can change the coding and allow for destructible buildings?

Yes, almost everything is possible. Model collision can be changed, so buildings can be destroyed ;)

This is awesome. Textures look really good, and it really looks like the Kiryu from the films.

This is freaking amazing! When I saw the thread I was honestly not expecting much but this is truly impressive. I have few skills with a computer but I am sure I could help with stories and perhaps character designs and stuff like that if you need help in those departments? Keep up the good work! I hope we might finally have a GOOD Godzilla game come out!!!

Just goes to show that game companies haven't got a clue what the fans want eh?

UPDATE#4
Brand new textures ingame !

http://imageshack.us/g/10/done5c.jpg/

Probably Its too dark, if You guys agree with me go ahead and post your suggestions ! remember that model reached maximum of poly and I just cant add more details on it, Its about texture.

TechnoForce

You are totally right, people from pipe or atari making a godzilla game by suggestions from head team... too bad they are not personally interested in Godzilla movies and i bet it sounds like :

Alright guys, they are giant, massive and they can fight - do your job ! result? cartoon colored toys fighting in non-slow/heavy motion and doing backflips.

Techno, everyone is welcome to join our team, just tell me which programs you know well and Iam pretty sure there will be something to do for you.

I am afraid there are very few programs I am good with. Save for microsoft word. But as I said I will happily contribute to story and designs. I can draw a little bit and have a very wild imagination lol. What have you got for story and characters and bosses so far?

Those textures are a bit too dark. It was never that dark in the movies.

An open world game would probably be the best way to recreate the world of the movies. I'm thinking of games like Hulk:Ultimate Destruction, Superman Returns, GTA3 and GTA Vice City and Shadow of The Colossus. I also think there was a game called R.A.D (Robotic Alchemic Drive) that had characters controlling giant monsters from the outside, standing in the streets or on adjacent buildings or something. This is the first time I have seen such concepts put toward a Godzilla game, and it looks sweet so far. Great job!

This is a great-looking project! I've never heard of someone modding a game before to throw kaiju into it, so it's a first for that! The scratch-built Kiryu looks great as well, even if he's missing the...thing on his right shoulder.

I decided to name this model as MFS-4, the old one was MFS-3 so Iam able to add new things and remove crappy parts.

I have to ask somthing, would you guys like to hear movie sound effects like explosion from godzilla 90's, military effects from 2000+ movies etc., etc. ? or a present-day hollywood effects ?

If you'll choose first option, as me, I need some high quality material... if you know any sites with toho effects or something, let me know ;)
