At first, I thought it'd be a sequel to the live action film. Thank God it isn't. I liked the show, so I'll probably watch this.

In fairness shortly after it was announced and a production still shot was released, months (if not a full year) of no news whatsoever happened.

I really enjoyed the first series, so when this follow-up starts airing here, I'll definitely check it out.

I'm excited, but I hope that Nick allows them to get away with more this time. It got a little silly how so few people died in a series about war.

I really enjoyed the Avatar: The Last Airbender, especially Season 3.
I hope Legend of Korra lives up to the quality of the original series.
I dig the steampunk technology in the new show as well.

So did anyone catch the leak first episode?

It was really good, and I liked Korra off the bat.

Korranation.com is also showing the first two episode before the show's premiere in April Today

Saw the the first two episodes....I'm a sucker for spoilers!

They were actually pretty good! The story constantly addresses the events that occurred in the original series. I found it quite funny how Aang's son Tenzin is the complete opposite of his father (same with Toph's daughter Lin.)

The constant pokes and references to the original series were fun too. My favorite was how Tenzin's eldest daughter asked Katara what transpired on Zuko's journey to find his mother, but as she was about to explain this "incredible tale." Tenzin's hyper-assed younger daughter bombarded Katara with many other questions. That scene made me laugh out loud.

I watched both and I have to say I enjoyed them. Nice animation and voice acting, and the design is as inspired and creative as ever.

However, it does bother me that Korra is somehow able to bend all of her elements as a baby where Aang had to spend seasons learning them.

What I don't get is why through the time she was a Baby, to an adult she was NEVER taught Air bending.

They said it right on the episodes, Air bending is most opposite her personality

Avatar: TLA is one of the very recent Cartoons that I watch and enjoy. I haven't seen the whole series but this show does look good. I'm glad that I never saw the movie since I've hear nothing but bad things about that movie.

The movie was just beyond awful - at least it's forgettable though (heck there are times that I have to remind myself that the live action movie exists).

The series is FAR better in comparison and the characters are much more likable and well developed. I am currently re-watching the series from the start. Book 1 seems to mainly develop the core characters while Book 2 and Book 3 dive more into the actual story and history of the Avatar.

I saw the show up to half of the second season. I didn't see it until over a year ago seeing that the show came out in 2005 or 2006, by then that I stop watching CN, Disney Channel and Nick seeing that I was in High School. My little sister was already a fan for the past few years and let me watch the DVD's. Not a huge fan, but I do like the animation.
