Favorite Gigan and Ghidorah Incarnations

Uchusen Gigan and Grand Ghidorah.

Though I could never see this for King Ghidorah, I've always wanted to see a Ghidorah variant (like Death or Keizer Ghidorah) that had a Cthulu/Lovecraftian feel:

Final Wars Gigan is my favorite, the first one, not the "Chainsaw" version. Too bad he only lasted about 30 seconds.

DesGhidorah is my favorite Ghidorah, if I can vote for that one.

I love both versions of Gigan, but if there was a gun at my head I would choose Showa over Final Wars. My reason would be that Final Wars Gigan's design had an ALIEN vibe while the Showa was more original. Plus when it comes down to their characters, FW Gigan is weaker compared to his Showa counterpart who could survive more than five minutes when pit against Godzilla AND Anguirus.

As for Ghidorah - I am torn. There are three designs that I adore - Showa, Heisei, and the design from Rebirth of Mothra 3. Screw it, I like all three!
I'm not a fan of the GMK design nor Keizer Ghidorah.

Surprised how many people like Grand Ghidorah's design. Is there anyone else who doesn't like the antler horns on his one head? Makes me think Rudolph the red nosed space monster every time I see a close up of his heads.

The horns are reminiscent to many Asian dragons who have those 'antler' horns. I actually like them, but to some people who are more accustomed to the 'normal' horn designs I get why it could be unnerving. At least Grand KG's horns are not as extravagant as those of dragons depicted in Japanese and Korean folklore.

Gigan (G:FW) first appearance and Grand King Ghidorah. Gigan in his first form looks like a total badass while Grand King Ghidorah screams master of terror.

You know, the Showa version had them too. The main difference is that GKG doesn't have a mane to go with them.

I don't see any antler horns on the showa version, they're just curved a little. They don't split in the middle like Grand Ghidorah's do.

Okay, I think I see what you mean now. However, even then, only the center head of GKG has the "antler" horns.

I liked the antlers, it fits the 'space demon' persona.

And the majestic king of the serengeti, Kaiser Ghidorah, grace fully trots about weaving its elegant antlers about hoping to attract a mate.

I loved Final Wars Gigan. I only wish he hadnt been such a bumbling bafoon! I loved the new sleak design and with the buzzsaw hands I thought he kicked ass. I liked his flying too.

Lol, you just gave me a great image of two Ghidorahs ramming heads, fighting over a mate in the backround.

I would love to see a herd of wild Ghidorahs in their native habitat.

TechnoForce wrote:I loved Final Wars Gigan. I only wish he hadnt been such a bumbling bafoon!

I actually loved what a dope he was, it seemed like a reasonable progression from his underhanded, cowardly persona from back in the Showa days. He came across as comically cocky in Final Wars: he thought he was hot shit and practically invincible, being Planet X's big, bad-ass space monster.... needless to say, he had another thing comin'.

I love monsters with personality, and so far Gigan has had it in spades every movie.

Design Wise I like FW Gigan
Execution wise it's Showa Gigan all the way

And it comes down to Heisei Ghidi for me
I'm the hero Gotham deserves, but doesn't really want.
