A new TMNT. But if they are aliens it will go something like this:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. No wait, they are aliens from outer space now, not mutants.
Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles. Wait a second, they aren't turtles anymore if they are aliens.
Teenage Ninja Aliens. Well, our definition of teenagers is based on the annual cycle of the earth rotating around the sun and if they are from outer space, that really shouldn't be relevant since the chance their development cycle matches a humans based on our solar cycles is extremely remote.
Ninja Aliens. Are they still Ninjas if they come from outer space? Do aliens study Ninjitsu? I don't think so.
Aliens. There we go, I've fixed the title so it is more accurate. Wait a sec, isn't that a 1986 film by James Cameron?
I got nothing.

Congrats, E-Bay. Now you are the biggest troll in cinematic history since Devlin and Lucas.

See what the creator of TMNT has to say about the whole alien thing.

^Don't forget Paul W.S Anderson as well ;). The only good thing about this movie is the writing duo behind Mission Impossible 4 is writing the script. But the director and producers can still skreeonk up a good script.

Sorry, Kevin Eastman's word about anything TMNT related should be ignored. He hasnt had much if anything to do with TMNT since ....forever. Laird carried the torch.

Im more excited that TMNT is coming back, not about the whole alien origin. If it's done well, so what? It cant be worse then Ninja Turtles The Next Mutation.

So it's ok to aim for "at least it's better than next mutation?"

Oh yeah, way to raise the bar guys.

Now, I'm not a huge TMNT fan, but I did watch the cartoon, play a couple games, and enjoy the Hell out of the live action trilogy. So this whole "lets make them aliens because shut up" thing is really stupid to me, but I cant imagine how bad it would be if I were a hardcore fan. My childhood isnt being raped, but something I enjoy certainly is...

...ok so let me see here, it's rape if the TMNT's origin is changed from:

Four turtles dropped in a sewer and covered in a strange going ooze that was dropped from and bounced off the eyes of a boy from the back of a convoy of alien chemicals owned by aliens running a giant alien years old corporation try to get their alien selves off the Earth with alien tech build with Earth resources

to

The turtles are alien.

ZOMG THE RAPE!!!

How about the previous rape then?
Originally the turtles were 4 regular turtles that were knocked over into a sewer by a canister of chemical mutagen created by aliens, under the guise of the TCRI corporaton. Found by a rat, the pet of Hamato Yoshi, banished with his master after being betrayed by Shredder. They all mutated, via ALIEN mutagen, into humanoids.

Then it was changed for the cartoon, games and Archie comics to....4 regular turtles that were knocked over into a sewer by a kick saving a blind man. While there they fell onto Hamato Yoshi, a banished ninja. The Shredder, using an ALIEN mutagen, poured it into the sewer mutating the turtles into Yoshi into the last anime they touched.

Then it was changed for the movies ...4 regular turtles were found in a sewer drain by a rat named Splinter. They mysteriously happened to waddle into the HUMAN MADE ooze and mutate into humanoids just because...

Damn it's total gang rape going on here for the past 30 years...

You cant be serious. Do you not see the trend here? In all of those examples, the core is the same:

"4 turtles mutated by strange ooze, raised as ninjas by Splinter the rat."

But now, we just have:

"They're aliens."

Are you being sarcastic or did I miss some bit of news that caused you to take a stab at the Godzilla reboot. I dunno, haven't been on for a while.

Yeah, Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles. It's stupid and Bay knows it.

Course I would lol if they rearranged it to Teenage Ninja Alien Turtles.

At least Devlin and Emmerich kept Godzilla within the same scientific order.
But I, that am not shaped for sportive tricks
Nor made to court an amorous looking-glass;
I, that am rudely stamped, and want love's majesty
To strut before a wanton ambling nymph.

Considering dinosaurs aren't of squamata, no, they didn't. They got the class right though, thank god.

That said, being part of fanbases that've expierienced adaptation/remake decay as well, I can't help but feel sympathy for TMNT fans.

Except there's no other details about their origins. The word 'alien' is butthurting people and its a shame. Proves no matter the fanbase, the core of it is made up of basement dwelling nerds that jerk off to hentai and play Pokemon.

What the!?!?!?

What I said a few days ago:
I see them just calling the film "Ninja Turtles" now.

I can predict the future!!!

In exactly 5 minutes, Taylor Swift will rush into my room naked, and hand me 1 million dollars in cash, and ask to live with me for forever!!!

Don't try to be something else. Don't try to be less. Great things are going to happen in your life. Great things. And with that will come great responsibility.

No, not at all. And those are details. I already said theyre alien. Tough, edgy, funny and lovable arent details because that's what Turtles always have been.

Jonathan Liebesman talks about the origin for the movie. It looks like they want the movie to be done through motion capture similar to the new Planet of the Apes movie.

I'm sure all of that will be in the new TMNT movie too. We just have to be patient and wait to see what Michael does next.
