I thought you were bullshitting until I read this.

I really hope Bay just sucks at picking the words he uses. I really really hope he wasn't being literal. Maybe if the ooze that mutated them was alien in origin it might be an interesting idea (it's a big might), but don't alienate who the Turtles are.

Indeed. They are called Teenage MUTANT Ninja Turtles for a reason.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why you should automatically put your money back in your wallet whenever you see Michael Bay attached to anything.

I was already worried about if the turtles are going to have a gangsta-rapper attitude with lots of vulgar jokes. Now i'm really going to be pissed off.

I knew that this movie was going to be doom with the director of Battle Los Angeles as the possible director. Sure it will be better then the 3rd movie, but its still likely going to suck.

You do know originally the mutagen WAS alien in origin, right?

Yeah, in the comics and the cartoons the mutagen was alien in origin, the movie series was Earth bound. But to make the Turtles aliens themselves? I don't know. I'll wait and see the movie first before I say "yay" or "nay". It may turn out to be a interesting interpretation. I'm not saying I like the idea, but let's just see how this turns out.
I was mentioned in the SciFi Japan article about the appearence of extras on the Godzilla vs. Megalon DVD.

I could see a LARGE in-depth background of turtles being relocated to another planet and evolving via mutagen into bipeds and some of their babies being brought to Earth, and raised in the sewer.

This is actually go against Eastman and Laird's original mutant concept, as TMNT was supposed to in part be a joke against Marvel's mutants, ie X-Men.

Why Krang? If this were based on his original incarnation in the TV series, then WTF. If they made him into an Utrom leader then I wouldn't entirely be against it. If these discriptions were of them, then I'd understand it. But the Turtles? I can't help but feel it changes their character too much.

Probably has alot to do with Nick wanting to AVOID the 2003+ series storylines and go for something fresher. Krang hasnt been used in a media form since the original animated series ended.

I personally like to see a better version of Shredder as well. I'm wonding on what they plan to do with Splinter, it would be nice if they got Peter Renaday to his voice again?

Looks like the fans are not the only ones that are upset with bay, former turtle voice actor has some things to say to the producer.

Bay's response is funny. I wonder which creator he's talking to... Eastman (who dumped TMNT and went for Heavy Metal; and is now publishing TMNT stuff through his franchise) or Laird (who has carried the series since the beginning but sold it to Nick to make money and has hocked his TMNT stuff on eBay)?

I somehow doubt Laird is backing up the Teenage ALIEN Ninja Turtle stories. He's been a purist since day one.

Could the people making this movie be any dumber?

Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes. The director of Battle LA and Wrath of the Titans.

If I were a hardcore Turtle fan I'd jump out a window. You have to say Godzilla's in better hands than this.
