Corolla is an excellent point A/Point B car. Easy to drive, nice interior.
Also after posting about the Stratus pretty sure it's the lasting til 2050 is what he's after.

I think it's more the Chrysler family and not American steel in general.

I've noticed anime fans lack objectivity and are incapable of taking off nostalgia goggles.

Like with what? If it's the dubs of Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z then I agree. Fans got upset with the Kai dub but I personally think the Funimation dub of Kai is surprisely well done. The Kai dub sticks close to the japanese script and the new voices are not that bad once you get used to them. The old Funimation dub was never any good since it had a inaccurate script, cringe-worthy dialogue and really stupid humor (Like when Captain Ginyu was fighting Kuririn and Gohan in Goku's body, he says "I hope you're both wearing clean underwear, because you're about to take a trip to the emergency ward!").

I'm not sure if NGE is very nostalgic to most people since I would imagine that most anime fans in the US never got the chance to see it until 2005 when Adult Swim aired it.

DBZ. This show is the epitome of shounen garbage, it disappoints me that people above the age of 16 still think highly of it.

NGE is hands down the most overrated anime out there, but the show itself has aged decently and still holds some value to this very day (I can see why it's a classic)

Nobody likes DBZ because it's art. People like it because it's fun.

It doesn't matter, I know what he means.
I haven't seen that many people defend DBZ as entertaining for anything other than nostalgia, or mindless entertainment to be honest. Mind you I wouldn't call it the epitome of Shounen garbage, I'd give that to Bleach simply because DBZ lacks angst for the sake of angst.

I'm judging it from a direction standpoint, not the dubs.

Boring choreography (Constant power leveling) and the structure of the show becomes mundane, redundant, predictable and ultimately lead to pointless side characters, on a consistent basis. DBZ is pretty much the example of how to not make a battle shounen.

Won't you say the same for the Godzilla movies as well, but I do agree that Bleack is garbage (I view it as a poor man's version of YYH)? Dragon Ball is a shonen series, you are not going to find something like Watchmen or anything from George Orwell when reading Dragon Ball. I can understand people for not liking it but I don't think it's not that repetitive as most people make it out to be.

Most Shounen battle manga gets to be pretty repetitive. I've read a few that aren't, but they get by, by making everyone useful for something. One of these days I hope to read Hunter X Hunter for funzies.

And Bleach isn't a poor man's YYH, they're very different series, beyond the similar themes of ghosts.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Full Metal Alchemist (Both series do a great job at presenting emotion, trauma, passion and a great story)
Yu Yu Hakusho (Great example of shounen choreography. Battles are won strategically and don't require redundancy or the use of power level fillers)

I remember when Dragonball-Z-GT was cool. Back before ANY US company got ahold of it and released it 9000z on a bajillion formats.

It was cool when Anime Labs subtitled it from ear. Every other word was skreeonk, SHIT or DAMN!

BTW, skreeonk NGE. I agree, most overated EVER.

Meh, I like Dragon Ball up to the end of the Cell Saga. It doesn't have the greatest story of all time. Nor is it particularly well executed or fresh. But it does have fast-paced action (if you get past the constant screaming and stalling of the original DBZ anime), some pretty good comedy, and loveable characters. That makes it fun enough for me.

Dragon Ball Kai would be for you, since they redid the animation, subbing and eliminated all filler arcs and episodes and all of Buu.
