If they quote someone that you're trying to ignore then scroll past their post? I do it all of the time, it's not that hard to do.

What if you don't notice that it's the person you're trying to ignore until it's too late, and you read their post without realizing that it was that person?

Seriously, you'd have to be paying meticulous attention to every single detail about that post, in order to just come to the conclusion, "Oh! That's a person on my ignore list! I'm just going to scroll past that post!" It's not worth it.

Well, you also don't HAVE to respond to people who you have problems with. Self-control is just as good an option as the ignore button.
I kind of imagine every TK flame-war actually sounding like this

I've said this before, but I typically read what is said before I read who said it. I'll skip the name of the person for a moment, read what the person said, and then find out who said it. So if I have someone on my ignore list, and someone quotes someone else from my ignore list, I'll read their quote before I realize that it's said person on my ignore list, rendering the ignore list kinda pointless.

I would like to complain about this fandom's lack of vision, drive and being completely complacent with bare minimums.
It isn't conderacting if i'm pissed.

No point in actually complaining, its not really gonna matter anyway. Besides what you and Tormentor had out was surprisingly...Tame. Nothing escalated, it didn't get intense or anything, everything was pretty tame.

Welcome to fandoms.
But I, that am not shaped for sportive tricks
Nor made to court an amorous looking-glass;
I, that am rudely stamped, and want love's majesty
To strut before a wanton ambling nymph.

At least the godzilla fandom is not as nearly as bad as the hetalia fandom or the sonic the hedgehog fandom.

Shit, try posting on Avpgalaxy, where practically anything you say gets drowned out by the 157 children that post mere minutes after you do. The community is simply to large, and full of kids who only got into these films with the release of ALIENS VS. PREDATOR in 2004.

I don't like hetalia it's terrible so I can see why that fandom is horrible.
Anyways yeah way worse fandoms.

Oh no doubt there are always worse ones. Still sites like the Atari boards probably don't give people a good first impression of the fanbase.

Yeah. I'm a ravenous fan of the Alien/Predator universe, but it really is almost impossible to settle into one of the related communities. Most of the older fans aren't there and have little interest in joining, and the few insightful voices can't carry far over the din of an army of morons.

You nailed it man. That's exactly what it's been like for me. I've looked around, trying to find a decent Alien/Predator community, and they're all infested with children. I just kind of gave up after a while.

It's even worse with Star Wars, but luckily, places like originaltrilogy.com exist, and that's really all that I need.

Both AVPG and Alien Experience do have older fans. On AVPG, I hardly post in AVP threads like I used too seeing that the off topic sections are more fun to post in. At least the Godzilla fandom is not as bad as the Dragon Ball fandom. It's hard to find a good DB forum seeing that most of the older DB sites are long gone and Daizenshuu EX is the only good place to join. Other Dragon Ball forums that I see now these days are full of noobs and really bad funimation dub (pre-kai) fan boys.

Off topics forums aren't a reason to be part of any community.
