Super Sentai or Power Rangers?

Speaking of not knowing power rangers was based off of sentai I didn't know till recently beetleborgs was based off of Juukou B-fighter.

I've heard Goseiger will be glossed over so they can do Gokai when PR turns 20, an anniversary series for an anniversary series.
Toei just announced it was reshooting the opening scene a few days ago.

From my understanding, Saban is doing with Goseiger what they did to Dairanger 20 years back. In Power Rangers: Super Samurai, it actually uses footage from Goseiger (they share the same main villain from my understanding) but keeps the Shinkenger suits. Since Super Samurai only has a run of about 20 episodes, they could easily start on the Gokaiger adaptation by the end of the year.

I'm more bothered by the fact that in Ranger mode, she's a dude. Methinks Trini had more secrets than she was telling anybody.

I haven't seen a current incarnation of Super Sentai, so things may have changed due to American influence, but tradition since the early 70's has always been in Japanese Sentai (and even Anime with super robot teams i.e. Combattler V ", Voltez V,Golion aka Volron,etc...) They all follow the same basic formula of 4 males and 1 female on the team. Since Saban decided to try to make it more even (3 to 2) There would have to be 1 character that obviously didn't match up. The yellow would obviously mean a less feminite female, but I wouldn't take it anything beyond that. Japan does the same. Transformers "Beast Wars" had too many female characters for them, so they made at least 1 "Airazor" into a male to make it more marketable to Japanese kids target audiance.

The basic Sentai team is:

Leader (Male)
Rebel/Cool Guy (Male)
Strong Guy (Male)
Kid Genius (Male)
Token Girl.
and more recently the "6th" member usually an evil or rogue hero turned good (Male)

Not trying to be chauvinistic, thats just the ways its always been as far as I know. But again I think the last Super Sentai I saw was at least 10 years ago. Saban's influence may have changed the way things are done in Japan.
