Free Gundam PS3 Game, (Limited to Only 12 Free Plays a Day)

The next Mobile Suit Gundam game for PlayStation 3 will be free. Famitsu announced Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation, which is being made by Gundam Memories developer B.B. Studio.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation is an online action game where you control Gundam in 6 on 6 battles. The goal is simple – crush your enemies. A screenshot shows a radar in the top right, multiple weapons to switch between, and text chat in the bottom left corner. Namco Bandai is planning for this title to be a deep game players can enjoy for a long time for free.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation will be released as a PlayStation Network download at the end of June. Between March 29 and 31, Gundam fans can register to be part of a closed beta through this (currently inactive) website. Details on how Namco Bandai plans on making a profit on Battle Operation were not announced.

Well, my personal thoughts on this is that I am somewhat excited for this. But I'm not gonna be completely excited or interested until I see gameplay.

Famitsu has a blowout on Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation, a free to play downloadable Gundam game for PlayStation 3. This game is a six on six team Gundam game where you side with either the Federation or Zeon. While mobile suits are blasting each other with beam rifles, you can also run around on foot as a pilot. Pilots can sneak into enemy territory, place bombs, and blow up an opponent’s base. As a pilot, you get a rocket launcher to target kneecaps and can also repair mechs.

Namco Bandai says players will be able to customize mobile suits to be well rounded, snipers or melee mechs. The game even has a grappling system for players that want to get up close and personal. When you tackle another player you press a button and if the defending player presses the same button they can escape. Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation also has a cover system for players that prefer guns to metal fists.

Of course it was! Tales-source has always been correct when it comes to their information upon anime games, they've been correct going on five years straight.
As for the game at hand, alright I'll bite. It looks a helluva lot better than Dynasty Warriors 1, 2, and 3. Even more so, I'm excited since the core structure of this game despite the added aspects, is based on the Gundam VS gameplay, so I'm all up for it!

But since this game will be free, I expect Namco to only make profit from DLC. None the less...It seems that being a pilot is actually important, or more important to that of being a Gundam, skreeonking sweet.

From what Blackout posted, it appears that its only Federation vs Zeon. That suits me fine though considering I loved the One Year War and some of the conflicts that happened shortly afterward like Operation Stardust. Char and Ramba Ral better be playable characters and I hope to god that the Gouf Custom is in the game. I like the regular Gouf but seeing Norris and his Gouf Custom owning the hell out of everybody was awesome.

Winners receive parts to customize their mech and pilot after battle. Famitsu has screenshots of those, but do not say if Namco Bandai plans on selling additional parts as paid downloadable content. Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation goes live at the end of June when the game is available for PSN.

Well, at least we know that there will be some reward if a battle is ever won. It was somewhat expected though but damnit I can't wait for it!

I'm up for it, and I think its safe to say that everyone here is within the same boat as well. And kickass pics Blackout! I was wondering how the pilots would look like within actual gameplay. And from what I see it does not disappoint .

However, the question remains...Which one will be more effective? Gundam, or pilot? O.o By being a Gundam, you'll have so much power and can pretty much destroy your opponents while holding off your own base. However, by being a pilot, you can pretty much turn the tide of the battle by repairing any teammate who's a Gundam. And of course, destroy the opponent's base, and even cripple them by aiming at a opponent's knee with your launcher.

Ok, I need this game now. The inner Gundam fan in me would kill me if I don't get this game. Dammit, this makes me miss some of my old Gundam games like Gundam Battle Assault 2, Gundam vs Zeta Gundam, and Federation vs Zeon.

Same here! Glad to see pilots being able to do more than simply fire rockets at enemy kneecaps I'm also glad to see variety in arenas to do battle in! I just honestly hope no one tries camping lol
