What do you think Invisible Children is trying to do? They're one of the few organizations I can think of who focus on action instead of sitting around bitching. If you look at the Kony video, you'll see that for US policy makers it's not an important enough issue to commit anything more than 100 soldiers who won't even be doing any combat. The idea is to make it an important enough issue to leave elected officials no choice but to do something about it.
I hear invisible children isn't even that great. Only 32% goes to services and the rest goes to their travel fund and filming.
That may be the case for those who run the organization. But they do get people to recognize and care about what's going on in the world. Filming is what shows people how bad things are, so if that and travel take up a lot of money, that's fine with me. At least they're trying to do something and not pocketing the money.
