Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated

I just finished watching the seventh episode of this show and I must admit, it's quite good. I would even go as far to say that it's the best thing Scooby-Doo related since Zombie Island. Definitely a lot better than What's New, Scooby Doo, or that other short-lived Scooby cartoon. I've only seen eight episodes of it, but it reminds me a lot of Thirteen Ghosts in that there's an overarching plotline with individual mysteries thrown in to fill an episode. The season finale (how I was introduced to the show in the first place) was pretty cool, too, and ended on quite the cliffhanger. I can't wait to see more episodes.

Its a pretty mature show. Its still got the typical Scooby children's cartoon basis, but its got a rather great sense of humor.

This was my favorite cartoon on television for a while.

Aside from the fact that Shaggy and Fred look awful...it's a decent show. First MLP, now this. My hope for the future of cartoons is starting to go up.

I love this show. Way better than the original IMHO.

Depends on what you prefer, honestly. I actually like the new series better, myself, but that's because I appreciate that it's not the exact same plot regurgitated over and over. I still enjoy the original, but I can't really compare the two.

I prefer this to Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? as well. The original has its charm, but I can only watch so much of it in one sitting before it gets repetitive. Even before this came out, I was preferring stuff like Thirteen Ghosts and the first four Scooby-Doo DTV movies over it. The good thing about this show is that there's an overarching plot even with individual mysteries, so there's always something to look for in each episode.

Very good show. I'm glad someone decided to do a new take on Scooby-Doo that's a bit more serious (but still light hearted). Afew folks may not like the animation style, (They said the same thing about Transformers Animated) but it really grows on you.

It's a very affective cartoon that grabs your attention and keeps it.

Can't wait for the next season.

I'm the lone disenting voice it seems. The animation isn't bad, but I never got into this series. I gave it a chance, but it never interested me.

I like the old scooby doo show better, where Fred wasn't obsessed with traps, Velma didn't love Shaggy, Shaggy and Scooby had scooby snacks, and the villains said "I would've gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for those meddling kids and their dog too!" the original Scooby Doo was more superior than Mystery Incorporated.

I've seen a few episodes, and like any new show, they can be really good. Just not as good as the original.
I give this show points for the Humonganauts.

Fred's obsession with traps is a deep psychological issue that has to do with his desire to prevent his mother from leaving. Which happened a long time ago.

The whole 'new cannot be better than old' mindset is quite unfortunate. Its preventing us from appreciating the new stuff more. And frankly, most of the 'old stuff' aren't masterpieces, its just that when a new intepretation comes in and is successful, the old shows/movies/books are suddenly glorified.

For this reason you will never see a film made in the 21st century enter the top 10 of a Best Films list (Sights and Sounds takes it further and none enter the top 200). The old, original Superman, Spider-man, Transformers, comics/cartoons will always be considered the best, even if the modern stuff is much more sophisticated, thematically powerful, has better dialogue, and a more believable and complex universe. And apparently older books have a million layers in every sentence while new books are rarely analysed or considered equally symbolic.

Yes. Thank you. Although I feel that this will change once the current youth enter into the arts and entertainment field.

Holy crap original Scooby Doo is garbage, Mystery Inc is the best SD series. Followed by Pup named, and 13 Ghosts.

Fred, Velma, and Daphne are more fleshed out this time. Where as they've always just been straight men for Scooby and Shaggy to bounce off of.
While I miss Kasey Casem being Shaggy, that's really about the only thing I'd say Mystery Inc doesn't have on prior Scooby Doo series.

I liked the older scooby doo series, but mystery incorporated is pretty good.
I like Velma's semi-redesign. She looks a lot cuter.

I enjoy the original Scooby Do as a kid and a Pup named Scooby Doo was my favorite cartoons growing up in the 90's. The last Scooby Doo show I watch was the one from 2003 or 2004 on KidsWB! which I never care for.

For this reason you will never see a film made in the 21st century enter the top 10 of a Best Films list (Sights and Sounds takes it further and none enter the top 200).

No, you don't see anything in the 21st century on any top 10 list because we are still in the 21st century and the 21st century started in 2001 which was 11 years ago. The movies on Top 10 list are over decades old and it takes time for stuff to be added on those types of list.

People do like the older stuff because they feel like it's better, not just because it's new. It's like saying people like the 1931 version of Dracula over the 1992 Dracula or the original Nightmare on Elm Street over the 2010 remake because it's old and because of Nostalgia which I find to be bullshit. To me the 1931 film will always be better because the atmosphere was better, the placing was much better and I think the acting was better. I found Bram Stoker's Dracula to be overrated.
