Ya know, to be honest, I have NEVER seen a Gigabrain Ghidorah available for purchase ANYWHERE.

I would be REALLY, REALLY tempted to buy one. I'm not too big of a fan of the marmit/gigabrain style, but there's something.... Different about the Ghidorah that really appeals to me.

So far, my wishlist:

Bandai 6":
Godzilla 1954
Godzilla 1955 (look moreso for the Toy Dream exclusive)
Godzilla 1984
Titanosaurus
Orga

Gigabrain:
King Ghidorah

Not like I'm ACTIVELY looking to purchase, but I would like to know where I could get them relatively cheap.

This is old news. Secondly, you throw the "however, it's stylized" moniker on as if this somehow a bad thing (nevermind the fact that these "stylized" figures are often superior to their supposed more realistic Bandai and X-plus counterparts). It still looks like the best, most accurate Showa KG ever released in this scale. Yes, it is expensive....but I'll drop $200 on this *ANYDAY* over several little tiny, expensive, and highly overrated toys (that are limited to only a handful of monsters) that I can pose and do the splits with....it's all about quality (GB KG), not quantity (the SH line in general) as you put it.

Legion1979 wrote:If you're looking for a vinyl of the Showa Ghidora I'm sorry to say you don't have many cheap options. Does it have to be realistic?

Don't worry Legion, Bandai will release showa KG in the SH line one day, so we don't need this inferior stylized figure...and I'll be able to make him do the splits and shoot cheap, lame looking plastic rays out of his mouths...ALL RIGHT!!!!! In fact, I will throw out my Marmit MH Varan figure too, as I have the utmost confidence that Bandai will include this rare kaiju along with others in their line as well. SH line RULZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try to read the context next time. Destroyer asked what the definitive King Ghidorah was. My answer was the Gigabrain.

Don't read too much into things. I was coming from the angle that maybe he wanted a more realistic figure. I have absolutely nothing against Marmits. You're barking up the wrong tree sparky.

That's why I mentioned it.

Good for you. I'll stick to SHM which are high quality figures. Even if they're "tiny".

Ooooo a Showa Ghidorah would be awesome!

Gee, ya really think so mister?

You seem to be looking for a fight. May I suggest you go somewhere else? Or maybe you can fight with someone based on something they actually said.

I remember once seeing a sitting and sleeping Godzilla figures. Were these Bullmarks, or Marusan figures? If anyone have information on these figures, or can direct me I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if any company has ever made a proper figure of Sheila/Shila/Sheela from Ultraman Tiga (not including capsule toys and the like)?

I really liked "The Defense of Zelda Point", and I searched for one years ago, but to no avail.

Add Marmit Gehara (or Geharha, I guess ;P ) to my want list. I saw TWO up for sale last week, but now they're both gone.

If anyone's looking for a Bandai SuperWalker Destoryah w/box, an original '95 Destroyah w/tag, or a Grand King Ghidorah w/box, I just listed all three at the markeptlace. Bandai Kanegon and Zigra are also up w/tag!

I'm looking for this Godzilla, and the Mechagodzilla in disguise one. Can't seem to locate them on Ebay.

Are there any "Accurate" King Caesar (SHOWA) figures? Not Marmet figures, I mean some pretty great looking KC figures. I've seen a X Plus King Caesar, but are there more X Plus KCs, or any Godzilla Origins KC?

Hope so! The seller's a really nice guy, and he's looking to offer a fellow fan a great deal on that fantastic figure. My GKG is easily one of my favorite pieces in my collection.

As real as possible, but not overboard to the point of it being $1,000 of course. What is the best, cheapest option at the moment?

At the moment, in terms of released figures and more in the vein of realistic sculpt, you don't have any options outside of Bandai, for everything else falls into the stylized category, a frustrating happenstance for me (as has been said earlier, variety is the spice of life).

Now that being said, the best "realistic" looking figure for Showa KG, is-in my opinion-still the Great Monsters Series King Ghidorah, some 28 years after release. Hopefully that will change once x-plus releases their version.

Anyway, here's an old pic of my GMS Ghidorah. As you can see, it's quite large

Image

Now...as for the "cheapest option"...well, unfortunately you don't have too much of that, since the realistic Ghidorah sculpts are constrained to Bandai. You have to dip into model kits for truly magnificent realistic showa KG sculpts, but they are obviously the opposite of cheap. If you care more about affordability than figure size, you may want to look into the hyper grade showa KG. I don't have the figure as I don't really bother with the small collectibles, but it looks great. It is a hyper, so it's incredibly small

Anyway, once the Gigabrain KG is released, you can be confident that Godzilla forums across the internet are going to be bombarded with pics...so comparisons will be inevitable.

Wow, that's a great looking figure right there. I'm not really a big fan of the eyes though, looks a bit goofy in my opinion.

i don't really...the whole figure is packed away in its box and in the closet until I figure out how to display it properly. i took this pic a few years ago just so I could have something to look at from time to time as a substitute for taking it out :) I will say that I have seen this figure displayed in a store, hanging from the ceiling, with the tails rotated so that they aren't sticking straight out and appear more to be slightly weighed down during flight, and that display looked absolutely awesome. how it stayed like that for years with the wings assembled and everything, is beyond me.

Destroyer wrote:Wow, that's a great looking figure right there. I'm not really a big fan of the eyes though, looks a bit goofy in my opinion.

It is. If they could have applied the same level of detail that Gigabrain did/is doing for their figure, then it would have improved it tremendously. As it is though..the figure is almost 30 years old, so it's forgivable.

leunames, I never get tired of looking at that Pilot Ace Gold KG  I've rarely come across it over here in Japan (in any variation), all the more reason I am ecstatic about the GB Ghidorah. The GMS Ghidorah is also very nice, considering its size and that is was released nearly 30 years ago (I most recently came across it at a Mandarake story in Shibuya last year, but someone has since snatched it up).

Anyway, once the Gigabrain KG is released, you can be confident that Godzilla forums across the internet are going to be bombarded with pics...so comparisons will be inevitable.

The GMS Ghidorah had been THE holy grail for me from 1991 (when I first saw the figure) to 2000 (when a chance look on ebay yielded the prize), so I may have a SLIGHT bit of bias going on, but I still think it stands out on its own accord given toy engineering from 1984 vs. today's.

As for the pilot ace, I'm curious to see which of the 2, Gigabrain or pilot ace, has the greater overall size. Anyway I really can't wait for the gigabrain to come out. they did say march release right? I'm betting "march release"=last few days of march. lame.

and, to answer someone's question earlier about not seeing the gigabrain for sale anywhere, the reason for that is you have to go to gigabrain's website and order it through there since these figures are "made to order." eventually it maaay be available through online retailers, but at that point you'll have several layers of mark-up added to it, on top of the "rarity premium," so the cheapest it's going to be is ordering it when it's announced.
