This is old news.
ebirahsmeg1 wrote: Secondly, you throw the "however, it's stylized" moniker on as if this somehow a bad thing (nevermind the fact that these "stylized" figures are often superior to their supposed more realistic Bandai and X-plus counterparts).
ebirahsmeg1 wrote: It still looks like the best, most accurate Showa KG ever released in this scale.
ebirahsmeg1 wrote:Yes, it is expensive....but I'll drop $200 on this *ANYDAY* over several little tiny, expensive, and highly overrated toys (that are limited to only a handful of monsters) that I can pose and do the splits with....it's all about quality (GB KG), not quantity (the SH line in general) as you put it.
ebirahsmeg1 wrote:Don't worry Legion, Bandai will release showa KG in the SH line one day, so we don't need this inferior stylized figure...and I'll be able to make him do the splits and shoot cheap, lame looking plastic rays out of his mouths...ALL RIGHT!!!!!
ebirahsmeg1 wrote: In fact, I will throw out my Marmit MH Varan figure too, as I have the utmost confidence that Bandai will include this rare kaiju along with others in their line as well.

As real as possible, but not overboard to the point of it being $1,000 of course. What is the best, cheapest option at the moment?

Why am I willing to believe this?

leunames wrote:At the moment, in terms of released figures and more in the vein of realistic sculpt, you don't have any options outside of Bandai, for everything else falls into the stylized category, a frustrating happenstance for me (as has been said earlier, variety is the spice of life).
Now that being said, the best "realistic" looking figure for Showa KG, is-in my opinion-still the Great Monsters Series King Ghidorah, some 28 years after release. Hopefully that will change once x-plus releases their version.
Anyway, here's an old pic of my GMS Ghidorah. As you can see, it's quite large
Anyway, once the Gigabrain KG is released, you can be confident that Godzilla forums across the internet are going to be bombarded with pics...so comparisons will be inevitable.

leunames, I never get tired of looking at that Pilot Ace Gold KGI've rarely come across it over here in Japan (in any variation), all the more reason I am ecstatic about the GB Ghidorah. The GMS Ghidorah is also very nice, considering its size and that is was released nearly 30 years ago (I most recently came across it at a Mandarake story in Shibuya last year, but someone has since snatched it up).

Damn straight!Counting down the days until mine arrives later this month...
